Finally, that worked. You have really told the right way to reset SMC. I used the RIGHT shift key while resetting it and that worked! Its the RIGHT shift. I was struggling with it for hours. Thanks.

My screen didn't turn bright and I didn't hear the fans. Also during the second step, when I hit the ctrl and options and shift key my Mac turned on then when I added the power key it turned off. Is that supposed to happen? Also how do I know if it worked ? Many Thanks!

Dude, you saved me!!!! I thought my MacBook was dead. You are the only one that had that combination of keys of Control/Option/Shift for 7 sec then add the Power button for 7 sec and it worked. Bro no trolling but this shi jus worked on my Mac!!!! Bro I hella wasn’t fina try it because of how many 🧢 videos on KZbin but bro this is legit! I was doing chemistry homework when my cousin accidentally disconnected the cable, it suddenly stopped charging altogether. I thought it was the outlets until I finally realized it was my computer. It wouldn’t charge to save my damn life and when I came across this vid and tried everything step by step, it started charging again! Thank youuuuu bro!!! What the hecc. I watched my computer go from 23% to 12 as I kept restarting it in disbelief. It’s currently 3/4 battery life. Amazing!

For those of you for whom this suggestion DID NOT WORK, I was feeling desperate. I tried EVERYTHING. I finally took some aluminum foil and jammed it between the charger and the port. It didn't work, BUT when I removed it, its DID WORK! Not sure why, but I'll be trying again if there's a next time.

When resetting SMC does this include resetting the Touch Bar, my MacBook Pro 2018s Touch Bar is flickering white, sometimes little dull flickers on one corner sometimes the whole bar will flash a nearly blinding white. Any input would be helpful please.

I have 2019 mba, and it’s freaking scary, at first it’s just common system behavior as “plugged in but not charging”, then I unplug but it’s still shows me that’s it’s still plugged, at that moment I knew I was fucked Then my Mac won’t charge at all for about 6hrs, I plugged in but it does not recognize anything at all I’m devastated as hell, tried many tutorials online about restarting SMC but none works till this vid came up and IT WORKS LIKE FUCKIN MAGIC!!!
