Installing apps on older iOS devices using older versions of apps!

Older devices running iOS 8, 9, 10 may not have any compatible apps available, but there are old versions that you can still download and use.
If you are not offered an old version - it could be due to the app being new or it could be an issue with the App Store.
If the old version is not offered on an app that you know worked on your iOS version, go to the Purchased tab on your device and search for the app.
This will then allow you to be offered the old version to download.
This is an awesome feature and helps to keep these old devices working for longer :)

Worked! I have an old iPhone I use for Reiki treatments and it suddenly became ‘too old’ or ‘vintage’ as Apple calls it. Now it works once again, thank you.

I purchased a ipad for my brother in law he is 56 and is death on electronics. I wanted him to have a working tablet. With all the apps he uses on a android I was hoping it would be easyer to fix. You saved me for I bought a very cheep used one and none of the apps seemed to work but My sister had one in 2013 and they worked on hers. So now I can get them. Thanks a heap.

Hello! It’s a nice video. I am considering to buy an iPad mini 1 (which is not compatible with the newest iOS). I would like to know if the developer of some apps still provide the older version (since I read that there are still some third party developer doesn’t provide their older app anymore). The app I want to know the availability are Whatsapp, line, google drive, microsoft word/excel/ppt, instagram, twitter, camscanner. *Assuming I already purchase those apps. Or maybe do you know where to get the information regarding the developer that still provide their older version of app in the playstore? Thank you in advance

Google may have changed it so that an older version will no longer work. A lot of companies don’t want us using older tech and want us to move to newer stuff even if it works fine.
