Let all the Ringo doubters hear this recording, to put to rest any doubts that this drummer wasn't talented. He was the missing piece that solidified "the rhythm's in guitar" band into national and world contenders. How they didn't snatch him up earlier is the bigger sin. This boy had/has had power, swing, drive, and feel for each song.

Considering the fact that they knew this was their last time in Hamburg, they were full of prellies, and they didn’t want to be there, the lack of polish is no surprise. Still, there are absolutely moments of greatness and their brilliance still shines through. Ringo, who was relatively new to the group and hadn’t rehearsed these songs is a tour de force, pushing the band to greater heights.

It's amazing how Paul's voice stayed the same for so many decades. It's like he was born that good. That's why the idiots who fell for the "Paul is dead" hoax obviously know nothing about music. They claim they "taught" the replacement to sing and play like Paul. Well how is that possible when none of them could? No one in that band was replaceable, full stop.

Paul/ Faul Differences between Pre 66 Paul and Post 66 Paul/ Faul. Brown eyes to green. Round face to long face. Hair parted on left to right. Drinks and smokes with left hand changes to right hand? Dozens of photos. Post 66 Paul is called Faul and Billy by many. Paul was a Skilled guitar player, never looked down, Faul an awkward guitar player to often looks down at guitar. Faul says many times that he is an imposter he seems to say this in jest but is it really? Shoe size goes from 8 to 9.5 Grew in height about three or four inches. Faul has a Longer and bigger face. Wider shoulders Pre 66 Paul was loved by the group, post he is not liked. Melodic rich voice with wide range to a good voice but not the same. Compare the Yesterday song. 77 Beatle interviews to two Post 66 Beatles grew long hair & beards and hippie clothes to divert attention away from the new different Paul/Faul. Other evidence: Jane Asher said: May 1967, She had found McCartney to be completely different, that he had "changed so much, and their engagement was called off. Wikki. Faul did not attend his father's funeral, a man the Paul loved. Ringo said Paul doesn't use his Liverpool accent any more. Paul had great wit, did not do drugs, dressed well. Heather Mills said she had a box of evidence that would show Faul betrayed her and that her life was in danger. Paul's brother Mike said the last time he saw his brother was at his funeral. When Faul was arrested in Japan his fingerprints did not match his prints taken in Hamberg years before and he was held for nine days accused s being a fraud. A paternity test did not match Faul but Paul had been supporting her financially years before. Three Beatles without Faul called themselves the fan three and George said without Billy pig. Paul's songs are a completely different style than Fauls songs. Meaningful witty Love songs to superficial pop songs. Both good but different. Paul said he only wears black socks he can't stand colored socks, Faul wears colored socks. Faul called Ringo his younger brother yet Paul was born in 42 and Ringo in 40. Faul was born in 37 making him older than Ringo. John Lenin admitted to Tom Snyder that he was putting out subliminal message about the death of Paul to give the state the Beatles were in. Paul had been killed. "it's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled" is often attributed to Mark Twain,

They make the change to the A in version 1 as well, but only on the second pass ("well she looked at me and I, I could see...") and very tentatively. So I would assume they were already in the process of deciding which way to do it... But it wouldn't it be fascinating if it turned out that Geo had just accidentally made the change that time, either in error or because felt an urge to try it, and then by the next time the track was performed they went ahead and included it as an actual part of the song?

They must have been stone deaf then, as if you are stood behind an open back ac30 amp say 6 to 8 foot away and the crowd is only 30 ft away from you screaming then you'd certainly be able to hear yourself. Back in the mid 50s Elvis played in front of crowds of several thousand screaming teenagers, yet never once did he mention or any member of the band mention about not hearing themselves. And they'd likely been using closed back amps, but when your only 10 ft away and the nearest crowd is 40 ft away. Think about it, that little transistor radio you are listening to in the garden set 6 ft away from you isn't drowned out by a neighbour 50 ft away blasting out a bluetooth speaker 20 times more powerful

Captures the raucous and infectious energy of early 60s rock and roll. George's lead breaks are more fluid and smoother than later live versions of the same songs. Shows how tight a live band they were, and how many different type songs they knew. Knowing that many songs and melodies had to have infused their song writing talent. Don't know why people think the quality of the playing or tape making is not that great. As good or better than many bootlegs of other bands in the 70s. A gem of a time capsule.

@@vincenttrudell782 I didn't say they were trying to play over screaming girls. Strawman argument. Some of their concerts were ridiculously loud. That they could focus at all at those events is a tribute to their dedication to play, not that they "slipped." You should "slip" so bad.

Daym who did this, they know what they are doing this is really amazing work. The top end of the drums alone has been generated from very little that was there originally. And the separation is impressive....no stereo wandering, makes the vocals actually possible to be heard. Clearly this is not just some cheap stereo widening chorus plugin. The guitars are isolated out of the drums quite remarkably. Was this done by Peter Jacksons AI?

How anyone could hear this band in the early 60's and not immediately sign them to a contract is beyond me! Everything here is beautiful but if you want to jump right to outstanding give a listen to "Twist and Shout" at the 1:17:00 mark. John's voice is phenomenal and I read that they liked to play this last because his vocal cords were ragged by the end of the song!! I did not realize they had this in their bag of tricks pre-Beatlmania days!

If you think about it, they were making fun of Stuart and Pete before this. As is often the case when they are young, they grew up in a port town and are naturally mischievous. But on the outside, they were all good, and even when the Beatles were on bad terms in their later years, when Billy Preston came to visit them at the studio, they suddenly became good kids. In the early days of the Beatles, the reason why they were so close like magic may be due to the addition of new member Ringo Starr. In that sense, Ringo was the final piece.

I couldn’t keep still at this and I’m bloody 70! The positive comments about Ringo are bang on, he kept them all together and later became so inventive with what was considered his less than technically perfect style. That might be true but his beat, fills and generally imaginative playing WAS perfect for a band that was pushing the boundaries of everything. I pity the boys, they’d blown everything to get decent guitars, but you can tell by the sound they make the strings must have been like barbed wire to play! It was a long time before anything less than a 13 Thou high E was avavailable!

And by the rooftop performance they proved they still had it. I know Paul would have been down for live shows but the rest were just not having it. If not for the breakup there might have been a chance to see them live without all the screaming but they were simply done as a band. The people that got to see them in their pre-Beatlemania days were few and fortunate. These recordings confirm that.
