What an amazing product to solve a major problem we all have. In my part of Arizona we are known for sharp, jagged rocks that will slice through brand new tires let alone older ones. We have small local events that see people come from out of town and the amount of tire casualties during these little events is astronomical due to sidewall slashes. This product is awesome. I cannot wait to see how it holds up in our extreme knife like terrain. Great video guys.

It’s been nice not having to lug around a huge spare tire. I just carry the 4x4 glue tread kit, Colby valves and tire plugs up here in the Sierras!

Great product as long as the slice occurs on a smooth side of the sidewall otherwise you need a sanding disc to smooth it out.

Stronger tires for bigger loads are harder to knife? M\T will also make them harder to slash?

I got a tree branch about the size of a nickel in my side wall las month. I wonder if this product would have worked. A clean knife cut I see that working.

Great question! Product is only rated for off-road use and up to 40psi dependent on the extent of the damage.

Is there an expiration on this kit? I am just wondering if I buy one and leave it in my truck, how long is it good for?

Great question! The adhesive is the only limiting factor here. The adhesive will last 2-4 years depending on how it is stored. We provide adhesive 3-packs on our website and on amazon so you can replenish as needed!

I’ve heard a lot about this from some friends. That soup bowl footage is gnarly. 2 bits of feedback: I would have liked to see an “L” shape or flap cut into a tire. Seems to me a single clean slice is giving the patch its best chances of succeeding. If the slice is longer than 1 patch can multiple patches be butted against each other or one overlap the other?

If you check out the cut at about the 8:48 mark, you'll see the "V" shaped cut, not quite an "L" but Tyler really took a chunk out of that piece haha As far as two pieces go, we have had customers do that and find success but we have not officially tested this process. Our large patch is 4x4.5 inches which covers the majority of damage that we have seen.

Sadly, just read the FAQ on the vendor's website. While it might be good aired way down not the Rubicon Trail - HOW DO YOU GET HOME? It is NOT allowed for "ON-ROAD" use; and ONLY Supports 40psi. So you can't get back to civilization on any highways!? Bummer. Too bad that (major) limitation wasn't mentioned in any of these videos (so it seems that, yes, it could be worth carrying in your kit, but for EMERGENICES ONLY, to get to a paved road where hopefully a wrecker can come get you). The comment "don't need to carry a spare" seems very misguided!

Thanks for the comment and thats a great point. Our kits are only made to get you back to a place where you can get professional help. Unfortunately, sidewall repair is limited as much by regulation as anything. With that said, this beats the heck out of walking for help, especially when the alternative is carrying a huge 40" spare tire.

@@GlueTread You can only do so much right? As you mentioned, I imagine you can't really do anything against "regulation" but could you maybe do a test video, off-road, with higher PSI? Maybe some forest road, or washboard with 25 or 30psi?
