Rubik's Cube - Lesson 2.5 - Move Notation

This is just a reference video so cubers can figure out what each move means.
I've seen dozens of images illustrating each of these 12 moves, but I find it a lot more informative to see the moves in action.
Each "Primary" move is clockwise when you look at the face head-on. The "Prime" moves go counter-clockwise. The apostrophe indicates the "prime" variant of each move. The prime variant moves in the opposite direction of the main move.
I may re-do this video and add the x, y, and z moves where the centers are rotated.

Got it! Thanks for this graphic Jack. No apostrophe = clockwise if facing that side. Apostrophe = counterclockwise if facing that side.

Correct! The “apostrophe” is often referred to as “prime”. So “R” is “Right” and “R’” is “Right Prime”.
