As a Canadian, who has a lot of interest in American politics, I believe that Bill Maher is correct, as far as why people will vote for Trump (I think Bill is totally wrong, however, when he says that the far right is more of a threat than the far left).... For all my almost 70 years, I have held, classical liberal views, on most things, and thus, usually voted for the Liberal Party, here in Canada; however, I began to vote Conservative once Trudeau threw his hat into the mix... In my opinion, he did not have the proper education, nor the appropriate life experience to do the job, nor did he come across as being mature... but, more importantly, he had extreme leftist views. Political Liberals in Canada (not to be confused with classical liberalism) have ruined the chances of good policies being put into action, by pressing their extreme leftist ideas to the point that people are now turning on them. Same in the USA. I don't like all the policies that the Republicans and Trump want to put into motion.... but, anyone not blinded by hardcore loyalty to a party, will see that the left, in the USA and Canada has, in my opinion, gone insane with their wokeness... All intelligent people, in Canada and the USA, have to vote Republican or Conservative, at this point in history, if we are going to have any chance of salvaging our culture.
