Polarization seems to be rampant on one side. Not saying it's not on the other, but one side is way more vocal. And, it's not hatred or negativity to separate/divide myself from the extremists in this nation; it's self-preservation. How can I be friends or date someone or listen to someone try to justify their support of a rapist? Or someone who supports the mistreatment of "other" human beings? Or who caused/supported the taking of bodily autonomy away from half the country? Or who supported the day those supporters threatened to unalive people in our nation's Capitol, and wiped their feces on walls? That's just a COUPLE of things off the top of my head, fresh in my mind. If one supports this guy who wishes to emulate Putin and Xi and Orban, there is nothing going to bring us together. That man has to disappear in order for this country to heal. Maybe then the "radical" idea of ACCEPTING others for who and what they are - as their TRUE Lord and savior intended - can happen. Agree to disagree happens today in my conversations with people who believe in it. But there are some who just will not see.

For the past 7,000 years, there has always been a struggle between the Nomads (Rural folk) and the City Builders (Urban folk). The Nomads are connected to the processes that are required for LIFE to happen. City Dwellers are connected to existential realities, that create demand for the Nomads productivity, and this provides Economic potential. Works great, until the City Dwellers begin to tell the Nomads, how to do the job...that they've been doing for thousands of years. These 2 worlds can only exist side by side; However, they CAN NOT exist as one and the same. There must be TOLERANCE, for the system to function. Nomads must be allowed to be...nomadic, and City Dwellers must be allowed to live existentially. This is why the Electoral College is so important. It provides Nomads the required political protection, against and ever increasing City population, and a shrinking Nomad population. Respecting this boundary is what makes us great, and not divided.
