When King described the wrong type of interview where the interviewer dominates the interviewee, he literally perfectly described Bill Maher.

Did he? It is called Real Time afaik and before that he had politically incorrect. In both he would discuss with people, not interview them, and say stuff he wants to say. Sam Harris, as another example, also says his pod cast is about having a conversation with other people to discuss topics. No interview, but also not a debate.

After the smear campaign against him before and after the election, I find his interviews fascinating. He was mostly an unknown quantity to me. I like listening to the current Larry King for ancient grandpa moments. I recall a discussion a while back (With Rubin?) when he discussed his disappointment with the lack of newspaper reading in public. He couldn't seem to understand that people who aren't boomers and up are almost only reading online. Admittedly, most young people suck at reading beyond headlines but it's not that they aren't reading any news at all. I've paused at one of these grandpa moments in this video. Rubin just has to let it go. That's usually how you have to handle these things. And that's kind of how Rubin plays in general, which I appreciate, though some may not.

Dave is clearly in maximum fanboy overdrive. It's kind of adorable.
