Rubio Canyon Mine and Lower Waterfall Revisited

I decided to make today's excursion shorter, so I decided to revisit the abandoned mine adit (or water tunnel) and the waterfall in Rubio Canyon near Altadena. It was nice to go through the mine at a slower pace compare to the last time I visited this spot. Surprisingly, I saw my footprints from a couple months ago in the mud as if I had just been there. After the mine, I rinsed off in a waterhole by the creek and then went to the lower waterfalls. I also did a rinse in the small pool below waterfalls, which was great.

FYI: I explore a lot and stumble upon many different things. The way I go about sharing locations is that if someone tells me to keep a spot secret before I wind up finding it on my own, I keep those spots secret. Otherwise, I share information at my own discretion because I like sharing what I find. I may take things down, obscure locations, or remove data upon request as I have done in the past, but a lot of the places I visit are less well known (because I'm exploring), so I could potentially be removing everything if I did things the other way around, which I don't want to do.
If there is a spot you'd like me to keep secret (if I find it), let me know BEFORE. I change my mind about what I keep secret on my own, but if we talk, I am much less likely to jeopardize my integrity than change my mind. There are a few secrets I don't share with people because I agree to keep these spots on the down low (even when I have heard about them through different parties before visiting). It's a nice spot and quite a short excursion. I definitely suggest visiting this canyon in the spring when the water is really flowing in the waterfalls. It can be longer if you decide to go up the slightly more sketchy upper route. There are some wild videos about the canyons if you ever get into canyoneering. I think this one is my favorites (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqrad3uwncl5d6M). It kind of reminds me of the videos you make actually. Some of these falls can be seen from a distance on that upper trail. I may get into canyoneering eventually if I ever get tired of doing things on foot. It looks like a blast and the pools are much better.

@@hikebytes Canyoneering those falls on a wet year is definitely on the bucket list for me. I've seen people doing it when I took one of the Rubio Canyon routes up to Echo Mountain. There are more in the area too. The places that some of the cannoneers get blow my mind.
