There was some buzz about Newsance's gov't going to implement taxes on individuals moving out of California because so many had, so I can only imagine that is the next step for businesses closing. It is an actual model in parts of Europe--I recall reading about an American company closing down stores in France (I don't remember the name), and there are all kinds of financial requirements to do so such as fines and penalties. I can only imagine the state of Newsance implementing the same as more companies, particularly the $20/hour fast food ones, in California start shutting down.

I totally blame Newsom for this. Minimum wage should have been kept at $16 an hour. Now how are they going to pay their rent now? I'm also mad at Rubios for not going public about this. Yeah, 20 would have been good like 10 years ago but because of people like you, by the time the wages finally increase inflation has gone past the point of it being enough. Does it make sense to you that inflation keeps rising but we shouldn't raise the minimum wage? Inflation is going to rise regardless and the needs of minimum wage workers need to be met. I'm guessing you're a boomer and back in your day minimum wage was good enough to afford to live but times of changed.
