for real I've been saying this, the similarities. It's not just the mormonism, it's this way they equate their parental authority with the authority of god. Like in one video Franke is practically screaming at her kids to "REPENT!" and it's like... repent to whom? To you? She thinks she's god, and also runs her family like a cult. Absolutely self-anointed behavior

I have been following the Vallow-Daybell case since the beginning, and I definitely noticed the similarities with that and Ruby/Jodi. I think we need to start evaluating how these women get to the point where they are able to abuse or even kill their children. In the 8 Passengers situation, the neighbors and people online were pushing for YEARS for them to be investigating. With Lori, Charles told the police what was going on and they didn’t investigate this death just a short while later?
@msmollybk Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Arizona police dropped the ball. That's another aspect of the case I find compelling -- I think authorities are slow to investigate when the perpetrators are attractive, seemingly put-together moms.
@amberka2884 Жыл бұрын
@@msmollybk That's definitely a good point! I watched the video where Lori and Tylee are talking with the police after Charles told the police she was dangerous, and they are all laughing and almost flirting with Lori the whole time she is there. Springville is Ruby's hometown and was the hometown of Chad and Tammy Daybell before Chad decided Rexberg/Sexberg was his safe place where he would reign over the White Camps. (Certain people describe Rexberg as a place of sanctified swingers and a convention location where cheaters went to hookup.) Springville is nearly 95% Mormon which might make it easier to sweep some dirt under the rug. I used to think Texas had a lot of blonds, then I saw Utah and a video of Lori bleaching the hair of her toddler.

As a Christian (don't know if I would be considered a fundamentalist. I'm a 'Bible only' type) family and the raising of children is highly valued. Training them to be faithful and decent human beings is important so discipline in needful. Abuse is not. You don't hurt your kids. The passage about 'provoke not your children to wrath' is often overlooked. It is a warped faith that abuses. Also parenthood is not for everyone and some people just shouldn't be parents. Btw, your baby is adorable.

There is huge pressure for Mormons to have kids. And have huge families. That’s integral to their faith and then they have spirit kids on Kolab their Mormon planet. They also have many spirit wives too. Basically polygamy in heaven. I had friends that popped out 6 babies that couldn’t afford kids, and I would say hey don’t have any more and the answer I would get is our church encourages big families. I was like but if you can’t afford all these kids, maybe you should stop having them. I wasn’t judging them I was worried sick about the kids. And many times I had to step in and help them by buying groceries and taking care of the kids. One little girl wanted to move in with me and told my friends that they had too many kids and that I didn’t have any so I could take care of her. That broke my heart hearing her say that. She stayed with me and loved the attention I gave her. I just did normal stuff like read her a story at bedtime and make sure I was there to help her wash her little hair, and stuff like that, she was only 3 and she would get thrown in the tub with the others to fend for herself, all by herself, and I was pretty horrified by that because clearly she wasn’t able to take care of herself. I adored her. And the other kids too.

Yeah I imagine she is a self hating gay in the closet because of her religion, who makes everyone else miserable because of it and is hyper religious, to keep it repressed. She may just have an emotional type situation where she makes the other women dependent on her which makes her feel important and needed. And then there’s all those lingering touches she does with Ruby and pulling her out of the water on that boat.

You are right, I do find this infuriating and sad that there is such a hyper focus on the fact that both Ruby Franke and Lori Daybill are Mormons. What does it matter? Many people of other religions also make poor or extremely bad life decisions so why the continuous pointing out that they are Mormons. I do not condone or defend either of these women but to say that Mormonism is the cause of their actions seems to me like it’s just an excuse to continue to bash the Mormon church. It may surprise you to know that 99% of Mormons are just regular people, trying to make a living and raise their families. Focusing on the one percent of people who have clearly done bad things doesn’t seem quite fair. Just remember there are good and bad people in all races, religions etc., so stop making generalizations and statements based on people who are disgruntled and disillusioned with Mormon religion (it’s not a cult by the way no matter what people may say.) Furthermore, you can thank the Mormon church for their huge humanitarian donations to world wide needs such as the fires in Maui, the war in Ukraine just to name a few. Ruby Franke and Lori Daybill just both happened to be Mormon, but they made their bad decisions all on their own, it’s called “free will” last time I checked we all have it to use for good or evil.

Honestly, I think the fact that Mormons teach that they will become gods and goddesses after death for following Mormon teachings is as much to blame as the emphasis on having children. I can see how this doctrine would appeal to extremely narcissistic individuals such as Ruby and Lori and some like Lori might take the extra mile and believe that they are essentially gods right now during their lifetime. And, if you genuinely believe that you are some sort of god, you will likely think that you can play by your own rules because conventional morality is for those mortal plebs, not exalted beings such as yourself. The end game of mainstream Christianity is to become a saint, but Christians do not view saints as anything near a god. Even miracles attributed to saints are not considered the saint’s doing via their own power, but their intercession before God on behalf of someone else and it is ultimately God that calls the shots. This is radically different from Mormom cosmology and it explains why Mormons have more of a cult problem than Christianity or other mainstream religions. A saint in practically ANY other religion is still ultimately just a human being and there is nothing a human can do to become anything more than a human being.
