@@Julesb2183 you said it well. I have met many Mormons with the same evil malice. I also met kids abused by the sect. I was younger, in my 10s, then later, in my teens and 20s, again I met more children of the cult with many sexual issues, trauma, completely dysfunctional. Their parents had the same abusive behavior I notice in Ruby and Jodi. Another sect where I noticed and I was also a victim from, was in the Baptist church. My father became one and his woman, also "converted". Both made my life hell on Earth. The whole cult would come to our house to harass me. These cults are dangerous and all types of psychos inhabit them. Later, when I was in Canada, I read a book, "The People of the Lie". I was shocked! the majority of the patients and cases studies by that psychiatrist proved to me I wasn't wrong: I had met throughout my life such individuals. Many were parents of friends of mine or people in my own family. It was appalling to realize how many of these creatures passed by me on this Earth. A friend read the book and she got another shock: in those pages she found her own ex husband who abused her and her children. She told me: "my dear, this book is a gem! There are so many mentally ill beings around us and we haven't realized... after reading this book, I am very much afraid of my ex!"... I advice you to read that book and pay attention. You'll find Ruby, Kevin and Jodi in those pages too.

It shows how damaged and dysfunctional this woman has probably always been. The fallout on her kids may only extend the cycle for another generation. I hope all of the kids are getting the love, acceptance, compassion and mental health support they need to become hopefully healthy adults. Franke is clearly mentally ill. She deserves to be punished and desperately needs mental health treatment before she goes out and gets her hands on another child. My only question: Where in the world is the father of these kids???? How had their physical condition sunk so low HE didn’t step in?? I wonder about his own culpability; he’s equally responsible for their children.

The judge/judges who denied the search warrants after repeated calls from school officials, older siblings, and neighbors MUST be held accountable. The threshold for search warrants should be at the lowest level possible when a child’s welfare is at stake. When abuse and/or neglect is suspected, that warrant needs to be issued!! Call out the judge/judges who refused to help these children. Had a warrant been issued when law enforcement was requesting it, the abuse may never have risen to the level that it did. A full audit/review of what went wrong in this case is a must. Because the next time a family is in crisis and children are at risk, they may not make it out in time.

In evangelical Christianity and some Mormon communities, they are taught children's nature is satanic unless parents train it out of them, because children are the closest to how animals behave in human form until they learn to be "civilized" and so strict Christian parents punish their kids for acting natural or animalistic at all. So wanting extra food, wanting privacy, wanting to run free, play in the dirt, make messes, experiment with boundaries, become interested in sexuality as they get older.. All natural human things that other mammals share traits for, considered "sinful".

Once when a friend's young daughter forgot her lunch this friend rushed over to the school with it. She asked her daughter, "Was it hard to concentrate in class when you didn't have your lunch?" Her daughter said, "No, I knew you'd make sure I had something to eat." I always loved this story of a secure little girl who could learn without anxiety because she trusted her mom was taking care of her. Just thought of this when the lunch storey popped up.

This came from Jodi's "therapy". She did pretty much all the same things and made the same type of accusations against her niece Jessi 14 yrs ago. She's got this weird fixation on accusing husbands and children of innapropriate sexual behavior. She believes she receives revelations from god in her dreams and tells her "patients" this is what god showed her and because of that, it can't be argued. She's split up numerous married couples that were referred to her by their bishop's for therapy. And I doubt that her niece and Ruby's children were the only minors she's abused in this way. She told her niece the point was to make her life so uncomfortable that she would confess all of her sins and once she did it would stop, but when her niece would make the false confessions, Jodi would just move the goal posts. There's so many people now coming out revealing Jodi's beliefs and methods. They couldn't before, because Jodi would go after and completely destroy the lives of anyone who spoke out against her. The woman's beliefs are so messed up, part of her Connexions literature states that being physically attracted to your spouse is LUST. And she's 100% convinced of her own BS. She's said to have this knack of combining church doctrine with her own screwed up beliefs to brainwash her clients, primarily wives and mothers of it. I'm certain that Jodi has Ruby 100% believing that her son did these things. But that's not to say that Ruby isn't responsible as well. If you haven't heard her niece Jessi Hildebrandt's interview on the Mormon Stories YT channel from last week, check it out, it's shocking, but incredibly insightful. I've never had the patience to listen to a 3 hr podcast before, but this one had my full attention all the way through.
@fabigrossi2976
@fabigrossi2976 Жыл бұрын
If you know more about Jodi it's clear at once that this talk comes from her. Jodi has a pattern of separating men from their families, claims it's necessary to heal the relationship between the couple, she always claims the men are addicts to pron, mast*rbation and the like and when you listen to the interview of Jodi's niece, who had to go through Jodi's "treatment" as Ruby's little kids you not only see a pattern, but more red flags than anyone could count. Jodi is deeply disturbed person, her problems are more than obvious when you put everything together. And in Ruby she found a willing victim/buddy in crime.

Of everything I've seen from 8 passengers it seems pretty clear that in Ruby's mind her kids aren't even people -- they're burdens to her. All the communications between her and the children is one way, from Ruby to [child]. The way she describes the house -- it's HER space. Your young child is hungry at school? It really doesn't matter, the only problem at hand is the teacher's discomfort, and Ruby's not about to interrupt her day for that petty concern! The word "narcissist" immediately springs to mind.

Especially given that Eve apparently didn't even have an alarm clock, something that most adults need to wake up on time! Also, if a three-year-old is so hard to rouse in the morning that's on the parents! Maybe Eve needs an earlier bedtime, or an afternoon nap to make sure she's getting enough sleep, or maybe she's unusually fatigued because she's not getting the nutrition she needs. Or she might have another physical problem that needs addressing, like sleep apnea or pinworm infection. But Ruby doesn't seem to think that she has any parental responsibilities beyond giving orders and inflicting punishment on her kids for not living up to those usually unfair orders. Ruby has no clue what developmentally appropriate expectations are, and no desire to learn them, either.

I also haven't heard of this YT family and I wonder how many people posted comments on their videos stating their concerns. I'm sure it's possible for the KZbinr to delete comments they don't like. I don't know enough about the law when it comes to reporting something that is posted online. I'd like to think at least one viewer tried reporting this. And it's also possible there are viewers who agree with this way of parenting, especially if it's what they were used to as a child. Vicious cycles!

Probably nothing. Narcs tend to develop in a family where there is abuse happening to someone else. They see the bullying and discover they won't be punished for participation in it. They don't recieve any positive reinforcement, which results in a net negative of their self esteem. They quietly recognise that they could be the victim, and as such, get it into their head that they must be very special or powerful or chosen. And they learn thay blaming the victim of abuse for their own failings will result in the victim being hurt. By the time they are old enough to theoretically know right from wrong, they see it as a black and white dichotomy. Those who understand that they are special and perfect and should be feared and respected...and enemies, who is anyone who ever disagrees with them. So in essence, they have a type of trauma but it's especially hard to deal with because so long as they have ANYONE to blame for their behavior, they're very prone to continue to see themselves as a victim of the enemies who don't understand how perfect they are.

Every time I hear that clip about her looking at her child in disgust after she peed herself it’s like a punch to the gut. There really isn’t anything more innocent than a young child and the fact that all of them went through toddlerhood being treated like that and not understanding why is horrific to me. The abuse that’s followed is obviously awful.. but just the thought of 1/2/3/4/5 year olds looking to her for love and care and being met with that and still not understanding… nah. I’m just glad they at least had each other once they realised they weren’t gonna get anything good from their parents.

This is the most useful video I have ever seen on abusive parenting. It is easy to be blindsighted as an adult, when you have experienced some of these methods as a child. Seeing these behaviors, while you explain what is happening and how they are abusive, is very eye-opening. Please make more of this kind of video. Extremely informative and important way to combat abuse and promote healing of the abused. ❤

I did, too, but in a different closed "theological cultic" group which to this day looks so good on the outside. Taught not to "air your dirty laundry" which allows abuse to go on & on in the group. Ruby & Jodie are 2 sadistic monsters who found each other, while Kevin was there during most of Ruby's abuse & did not protect his kids. Abuse is normal (not with everyone, but many) in these closed groups.

This is uncomfortable to watch because it’s eerily reminiscent of my childhood, but nothing more overt was done to make it possible to know it was abuse. I was punished severely for having an eating disorder. Literally banished from the home and not allowed to continue training to go professional in ballet for a while. It destroyed my career. I was told that I was being difficult for any relapses that got found out or having emotions and lectured about the bubble theory-which was my parents version of making the world small. Better behavior bigger bubble. As an adult I ended up nearly drinking myself to death and trying to keep peace and connection within the family until I finally realized what was happening. I no longer have a relationship with anyone even though it’s the most important thing in the world to me. My mom basically trashed me to everyone and I refused to accept their ideas that I am the worst and caused everyone’s problems. So no relationship them. My mom told me that since I stopped drinking my behavior has never been worse. She’s fcking crazy.

@-xirx- this makes me see that you don't understand the control that a narc has over their family. If he didn't do everything she said, she would ruin everything for him. He literally had the choice of participating or being severely punished, typically financially or emotionally, whichever would hurt him most. My father convinced my mom that I was a liar. Nothing I could do changed that until I stood up for myself and started proving him wrong over and over. I was punished, by him, severely for standing up to him and his lies. Most of his family feels I am in the wrong for standing up to him. I have no relationship with him at all now and people can finally see the person I really am. He has only been apart from her for 14 months, it takes years and years to start finding yourself and find who you really are after you escape from their control. He could be at fault but he could have also been so incredibly manipulated that he had no choice but to do whatever she said.

I have done quite a bit of healing and figuring out who I am in that time, but I also know it can take years and years to actually heal and figure out life without a narc. Sadly, as children of narcs, we didn't know life "before" so we have to relearn how to live from scratch!
