The problem with putting Ruby against anyone is the fact that her powers are ridiculously undefined and vague, to the point where my personal idea for the limit of her powers is a very ridiculous one, but in the show there is barely any hints that her power is anything other that just speed with a bit of flair using the petals, the hints toward more power for her is in the volume 4 trailer where she is seen dividing herself into three mid-air and reassembling herself but that was never used again so her powers remain VERY undefined while Izuku is a shonen protagonist midway thought his series, so he is VERY powerful specially compared to someone who's powers we BARELY know we understand the powers of every member of team RWBY except for their leader, with Yang being kinetic absorption and release as long as she remains with aura, Blake being leaving a shadow of herself behind that can be infused with dust to give them effects, and Weiss being the used of glyphs to create effects and creating copies of enemies she has defeated (this seems to only extend to Grimm, but maybe it can extend to Aura users too) point being that this fight was very unfair, yet fun and that I'm sad about the state of RWBY

@@code066funkinbird3 That's why I compared them MHA uses its powers to explore the characters and how said powers affect their lives, the best example is Himiko Toga who resists her urge to drink blood so much it drives her insane when just having blood in her diet could have helped her a lot but both her parents and society saw her quirk as villanous and choose to ignore the problem meanwhile in RWBY the powers don't really tell us anythig about the characters when they really should MHA powers are those the children are born with and so they shape them, RWBY powers are born from the soul so they should tell us something about the characters but they just don't this is the biggest wasted oportunity of RWBY, while the powers are pretty much opposites in how they interact with the user (MHA affects the person, RWBY the person changes the power), both can be used tremendously well to inform the reader about the characters but RWBY dropped the ball and never explored anything with this concept

@@code066funkinbird3 I just realized I responded with something completely unrelated ...oops here let me try again: Deku's powers are actually defined pretty well, we know what each of his abilities actually does, while Ruby's power makes no sense and seems to change just based on writter whims, speed was never her power even if they wanted us to belive that, but how is becomeing lighter by separating yoour atoms (IDK?) going to make you faster than a person with the power of speed, it feels like they wanted to keep the speed concept but also ass whatever is going on with her roses and failed at it RWBY powers are meant to be vague since its soul based but thagt vagueness could have been used to explore the characters which it wasn't (I did it again) I.e Deku has several powers which are at least fairly clearly defined (super strenght, a whip thing he uses to swing like spiderman that can come out of his body, danger sense, he's spiderman, thats his power), while Ruby has two vaguely defined powers, that aren't really explored all that well beyond the concept or "It looks cool"

Tomás González yes he is. While he is less experienced, and probably isn’t as good in terms of fighting style, he can tank pretty much any attack that we’ve seen in RWBY, he is far faster than most characters, and has more destructive power than any RWBY character. If we were talking about the RWBY manga, then it’d be up for debate, but the manga isn’t canon, and the show has shown nothing outside of Yang or Grimm that can do any significant damage to Deku. The only thing I see that is debatable is the fact that RWBY characters uses bullets and blades, which we’ve seen from Stain doesn’t seem to work into power scaling, but the overall power scale in MHA is still way above that of RWBY characters. They have skill and experience, but that only applies so far your power is still close to that of the opponent, which in this case it isn’t. Ruby does have a chance if she catches him off guard with her semblance, but if that fails, she’s simply outclassed in almost every category

William Allison Ok let’s see here, Deku has the power to crack a good amount of a mountain side apart, that is more than enough to destroy Ruby’s aura. Deku, they have about the same intelligence with Deku being slightly higher. The only advantages Ruby has is speed and her semblances, however Deku can still match her in speed with his reaction time and she may be harder to hit with her semblance but one good hit and she is done. Not to mention in this fight Deku had Eri, he can now move faster than the eye could see (near light speed), and punch so hard the air around the punch gets set on fire and that one punch became 15 different punches

Also - to add some context - with the way Ruby collided with him as he was carrying Eri to safety, he might have assumed that Ruby might have been aligned with Overhual or the League, with the aim of capturing Eri. Ruby pretty much didn't make any attempt to say otherwise (not sure why), so Deku was definitely fighting to protect Eri.

It confuses me why people think that it’s only when Deku goes up to 100% is it a complete wash. Just by using the 40% he has currently he could rip Ruby apart. Having been caught up on both shows (MHA manga included), Ruby simply wouldn’t have the speed to even touch Deku as he’s far passed the speed blitz territory and by the end of season 3 he’s tanking at least some of Bakugo’s explosions. Ruby’s durability is only as strong as her aura and that isn’t even that great from what we’ve seen (not that we’ve seen much since the show doesn’t really give her many good fights). I don’t think people quite understand how strong even just 20% Deku is, because being strong enough to manipulate air pressure into actual attacks is absurdly powerful and taking a direct hit from that would destroy most people. That’s already building+ Level strength, as we saw Midoriya stomp on the ground and surge up several massive rocks to block Overhall’s attack. Simply put, nobody in RWBY (except for the immortals but that’s a given) can really stand up to 20% or more power from Deku. Obviously pre-season 3 would probably take him since he’s still learning how to fight and control his power, but after season 3 and especially 4 he’s just far too powerful. Eric was really unnecessary but a cool addition nonetheless. (Btw for anyone who references silver eyes; they only hurt grim, they only mildly blind others and even the user during the action as Ruby clearly stated her vision went white, and it takes far too long to charge up and cool down to be useful against a fast opponent)

Orundestiun pre Pretty much, her whole thing is speed but we’ve seen plenty of similar speed feats from 5-10% Deku before so I fully believe that 15-20% is enough to speed blitz her (much like plenty of people have done to her before like Tyrian and Harriet). Even if she’s stronger than before, I think Deku’s progress and the stupid OP power of One for All is just too much for most anyone to handle in RWBY

For all the RWBY simps, I think Ruby would've lost against Deku regardless if he was at 100% or not. Ruby is shown multiple times in the canon show to be less than useful when up against opponents who can THINK. Ruby's eyes only affect grimm because Emerald shot at her perfectly mid-usage of it when she saw Cinder fighting Jaune. Her aura, while a great asset, isn't invincible. To many direct hits and it breaks. Tyrian broke her's with less effort. So yeah , Ruby would've lost regardless, she doesn't even plan out her fighting anymore , she just, hopes that she wins and the show gives it to her. And this is coming from a RWBY fan.

In anime, you can do any move as long as its related to ur power. Like for example: you have the power of wind, you can actually make a hurricane out of it using all the winds of the earth and smash it to ur enemy. And thats already op.

It's true that if Deku lands a good smash on Ruby, that'll probably be the end of the fight. But last I checked, One for All doesn't make you blade-proof, and Ruby's scythe can cut through whole ass monsters. So a clean hit from her would probably end the fight as well.

But in real battle, where nobody know abilities of his enemy, Ruby in this case can kill him immediately. Deku never started a fight at 100 percent unless he knew what to expect from the enemy.

I'm a huge fan of RWBY but even I knew there was no hope in beating Deku, wayyy too unbalanced of a matchup. Ruby can match his speed, sometimes, and has technique, that's about it. Deku also has technique and speed, and though he doesn't have a weapon that doesn't really matter, he just beats her out in strategy and raw power.

Just going to say my own two piece, the fight was great Hyun, good work as always. Now for those that say this is rigged, just know that Quirks and Semblances are pretty similar. As for aura, just remember One for All boosts the wielders body pass super human levels with each new wielder. So in theory Izuku is more than able to tank or doge bullets, same with getting cut by Ruby's scythe, what I'm saying is that All Might technically had a weaker version of One for All, and Izuku is still growing. Basically Izuku has a stronger more durable body than Ruby, while Ruby has Aura, in my opinion its not as strong as One for All. She has been hit by far weaker attacks and had her Aura taken down, while I've seen Izuku tank a hotel destroying blast from Bakugo point blank, without Full Cowling. But this is just my opinion, I've watched both and I love both, but I'm just stating what I've seen so far.
