I believe it could be similar to stimming! Stimming is something everyone does, but others do it more often or exaggerated, and it helps regulate emotions! It’s common with autism as well, but I find it very interesting!

That's called stimming. It's common with autism but people with other disorders do it too. Although everyone does it, some people do it more excessively. It's a way to express themselves when they have overwhelming emotions. I do a lot of excited stims myself lol.

I often wonder if disabled people are more blessed than those who are wealthy $$$. My uncle had Down Syndrome and was childlike. He lived a very simple life, but sadly, he was bullied by people often. He was not troubled by the problems of this world. He loved the simple things, animals, nature, etc.

When she moves her arms to express what I can only assume to be her happy emotions, it makes me realize we ALL do that; when we see a cute puppy, when we finally see the friend or family member we haven't seen in a long time, or whatever it may be, we either scream or laugh or jump up and down to express our joy. People who have "disabilities" are the people most capable of love in it's purest form. They, as well as people like Chris and his partner, are the embodiment of how the world should always be: full of laughter, full of love, and full of opportunities to learn how to love. Special Kids indeed ❤

I have a wonderful little friend named Mike. He has Down syndrome. We became friends in high school when I rescued him from a bully. We remained friends throughout school. Fast forward to today. My girlfriend,who I’ve been with for 6 years now , just out of the blue started talking about her special cousin named Mike. I asked her what was special about him and she said he has D.S. Something clicked and I said wait a second, whats his last name? When she told me, I couldn’t believe it was him, my buddy from so many years ago. We went to see him that same weekend and he immediately recognized me, ran over to me and said,” Hey it’s my buddy who saved me “!!! I was so overwhelmed with joy, happiness and excitement! My faith in humanity was restored at that moment. He will forever be my special friend!!
