The ‘which answer would you like’ way he communicates with him is low key brilliant. In my experience people with autism can get very upset if you don’t respond they way they expect and that’s a wonderful way to make him happy.

Honestly, same. I'm neurodivergent myself and I've been able to pretty effectively mask it most of my life. It's been a double-edged sword, and while I'm sad to say it, I spent a long time looking down on other neurodivergent folks who couldn't or just didn't want to mask like I did. I didn't really see any other options for myself or for others than to act "normal," and I was unfriendly when I saw people act in ways that I would criticize myself for. This channel has provided an incredible template for what being a loving and caring person to everyone should look like. I appreciate Chris' kindness and the simple rule by which he summarizes it: everyone has value, and that value is the same no matter who it is. It's helped me to better to other people, and also to myself.

Hey, Dustin. You are awesome buddy. Keep being yourself and try to make sure to say "thank you" to your amazing parents. I like trains too and make sure dad is there when you play with the chainsaw. Love you all the way from Seattle, Washington.

The bright face of Dustin shows the great love his family members gave him and nurturing/educating him. And his communication skills, being able to respond to people and engage himself in conversations and share what he thinks & feels about things or people is amazing growth. Makes me mediate on the blessing of having my little sister in my life. I don't know what kind of person I'd be without her.

I must have watched most of the videos on this channel over the last few months, they're just so heartwarming and important. I've begun to notice these interviews have taught me a lot about how to speak confidently and respectfully with anyone at all, and how to really listen to them in return. love this channel, hope I come across more folks putting this kind of energy into the world in the future.

I grew up with a brother with autism, we were adopted together and I have always felt the need to take care of him- the way you communicate with Dustin is so heartwarming, you don't judge you don'y hesitate before you answer him, you treat him like you are having a normal conversation with a human, you don't treat him like a little kid but you still talk to him in a way that he can understand.

I was recently diagnosed with high functioning autism. I really like this video because it shows that the spectrum is big and no one is the same. If there was only one thing I want people to understand about autism it's that some of us just want to be understood and not pushed away. We talk because we want to be heard but we pull away because we are done socializing. Some of us do not mean to be rude but need to be taught that what we did was not ok.

I love that his Mom keeps talking while Dustin is talking. We have 2 ASD kids that are now over 18. Life with an adult child with ASD and multiple needs is challenging. We pretty much do what this family does. Dustin is very capable of talking and Chris making sure it is okay to answer his questions is a fantastic response. I love this series so much and that helps so many people see what life is like with the vast spectrum of challenges people face every day.
