More recently I was fascinated by and enjoyed her 'mutual interview' with Melvyn Bragg in 2011 on a programme called 'Living the Life'. Ruby & Joanna are both so wonderful! This is one of my favourite sketches of all time. I don't think it matters that it takes the mick out of mental health a little - I think that's healthy actually, I've had problems in the past and I'm not offended, quite the opposite.

Ruby didn't enjoy it at all. Ruby has actually said a million times over the years that it was the worst interview she ever did, she was so nervous that she got aggressive and it all fell to pieces. There are lots of videos here on KZbin of her saying so.

The whole premise here is really based on laughing at mental illness. I remember watching this as a teenager, and thinking it hilarious. I really do love Ruby Wax and always have done. I wonder if any of this now seems a little exploitative to her? Given what a fantastic advocate she is for those of us who suffer with mental illness. But hey - the best comedy stimulates deeper thought and works on many levels. Love you Ruby, xxxxx
