8 weeks here and just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing. First trimester is so isolating and so many emotions to deal with. On one hand I’m so happy but I’m the other I feel sad because i feel I’ve lost a part of myself. Before I got pregnant, I was super active and worked out everyday, thrived on being on the move and being productive. Now I literally have energy to do nothing but lay on the couch. I’m nauseous all day, and the medication I’m taking to manage it makes me dead tired. I’m lonely because I’m home all the time and none of the “fun” part of pregnancy has stated yet. It’s hard as hell!!

Wow I honestly can’t tell you how much I needed this video. I’ve had such a similar experience with my first trimester. What I thought would be the most magical time has actually been one of the most miserable periods and I too feel SO guilty for saying this. It’s so incredibly isolating feeling so poorly, not leaving the house, not seeing your friends & family and having no distractions from how awful you’re feeling. I can relate to every single thing you are saying. I can’t even walk past the fridge without gagging. I’ve never wished time away more. Really appreciate you being so open and honest. Feel like every other pregnant person I know is having the most magical time so it’s been really difficult to find someone who can relate. I’m 15 weeks now and the nausea has definitely eased off in the last week or so. Feeling more human has finally given me a burst of excitement again but WOW who knew pregnancy could be so tough?! Thank you again for filming this video. Really appreciate it ❤❤

I have nausea every second of the day it ranges from low to medium nausea. I’ve been non stop nauseous for 4 weeks straight. I need a break! I’m at the end of my rope I almost cried today. I’m so grateful for my sweet baby but this sickness is ruining my life at the moment. I’m 11 weeks approaching 12. I’m just praying I’ll be one of those women on Reddit that say they finally wake up one day and it just stops. And what makes it worse is going to work and still trying to keep up with the home. My kind husband is very patient and understanding but I don’t feel like myself and it’s effecting me emotionally. I close my eyes and just imagine the moment my baby will finally come out and I’ll hold them in my arms. Sorry for the rant lol I hope all of us ladies are the light at the end of the tunnel soon!

I’m so glad I came across this video of yours. I’m now 7+1 weeks pregnant and STRUGGLING so bad with nausea, vomiting and just feeling so sick and ill all the time. I’m also feeling so low, scared and anxious. I can really relate to what you talked about at 15 minutes in this video. Thank you so much for making this video!! 😭❤️ This gives me strength and hope that all of this will get better and that I’m not alone. Wishing you all the best!!

I know you posted this a few months ago, but I have watched so many first trimester blogs and I really want to thank you for yours. It was brave of you to be so raw and so many of your symptoms are the same as mine so it really is very reassuring to know that someone out there on the other side of the world has found this as hard as I have. I have had IBS for 7 years but I had a terrible flare up between weeks 4-7 too and it was so so painful and I have only seen 1 other person who went through this! The nausea is currently sending me insane at 10+6 and I am counting down to the 2nd trimester. I really hope I also feel better like you did. Thank you so much for sharing. 🥰

Thanks for sharing. This has been the most relatable first trimester vlog. I couldn't enjoy my life at all because I was so violently ill. It's hard to explain to anyone who hasn't had this experience because you don't want to come across as a negative person but you also know its the truth of your day to day experience.

I’m currently 7 weeks 1 day and I needed this today. I’ve always wanted to be a mum so I just feel so guilty and confused that I feel so low all the time right now, like I’m not appreciating how lucky I am. But as you said, it’s hard to feel excited and grateful when you feel so rubbish all the time. Just got to keep surviving as best I can until the 2nd trimester 🤞

I’ve just watched this while I’m 19 weeks today, and you really captured the feeling I had from 6-14 weeks! I didn’t have any IBS/cramping issues but I was sick almost everyday anytime I woke up or was hungry, I also felt very low between 8-12 weeks and I did wonder if I’d make it through/ had thoughts about if I could actually do it (birth/having a baby). This video would’ve really helped me (if I could bare doing/watching anything or even speaking about it) but I am sure it will help lots of people. I’m feeling much more positive about it all now, the 1st trimester emotions are absolutely awful and I’m glad I’m out of it!! Glad you’re feeling better xx

Thank you for sharing, I wish I looked up videos like these sooner. I’m pregnant in my first trimester and have a lot of gas and bowel symptoms like yourself. I prefer natural remedies and can honestly say peppermint tea is a game-changer! Helps to regulate your digestive system and go to the bathroom. I found sea salt and hot water to be really helpful with nausea along with consuming enough water throughout the day. I’ve had a lot of food aversions so I have been navigating what I can consume from what is making me feel sick. But each day and each week is different and take it as it comes. 😊

Best tip for trapped winds: go down on your knees, lean forward, rest your head on the ground or your arms. Your butt should be the highest part of your body now. Breath into your stomach, let it hang losely. Every once in a while sit up, then return to the position. Your gut will losen up and the winds will find there way out. I promise! - I forgot to say: Don't wear anything tight.

I was hospitalized with both my pregnancies for 3 or 4 month on IV for the whole time. I don't think they do this anymore as this was back in the 80s I could eat a little but i couldn't drink for some reason. I had a constant metal taste in my month. I lost so much weight and looked like a very ill person. However both babies were big and healthy. It was horrible at the time. My children are now grown, married and have children of their own. So hang in there.

But the guilt set in this morning when I had some spotting and now I’m worried I may miscarry as I’ve done before. I’m trying to keep positive but it’s so hard when I feel so alone. I have 2 healthy children but also have had multiple miscarriages to get there, I’m just scared.

@Cath189 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing, I was sick and mind numbingly nauseous all day every day from week 5ish until almost 18 and there is so much guilt that comes along with it, like you mentioned the feeling of not enjoying it but also I found I was putting a lot of pressure on myself with thoughts of 'this is the most natural thing in the world and your body is meant to be built for it so why are you struggling' and also feeling guilty for feeling resentment towards others who had an easy pregnancy. Also the severe anxiety in the early weeks every time you go to the toilet etc, I hadn't heard many people talk about that! I also feel like the isolation isn't talked about much, the exhaustion for once some days means you literally wake up, work and sleep and that's it and then you can't really go out anywhere if you're that unwell but then also people are waiting for you to invite them to see you so they don't intrude but you either don't feel up to visitors or if you're like me your house became a tip so you didn't want people to visit. I felt like I didn't even have the capacity to answer messages often because the light on my phone would make me sick or people would be asking how I was but I didn't want to have to talk about how I was months into not being able to leave the sofa - it can really take a hit on your mental health and I don't think it's talked about enough or supported enough by our healthcare system, you're mostly left alone for that first trimester when it's one of the hardest! I sobbed multiple times a week about feeling lonely but also felt too sick to really even try seeing anyone, it really is so so so difficult.
