And my Dad would just always say that there were good things then and bad things then just like every year, decade, and century and if you went back in time and spent a few weeks in the 1950s or the 1860s you would realize that people are people and styles change, but people don't change that much.

@@pepper13111 There was No Segregation in the State of Washington in the 1950s; nor was their Segregation in the West Coast States in general. We all went to School together, shopped at the same stores and lived in the same neighborhoods. Segregation was Primarily a Southern State Problem and their were a lot of laws passed in the early 60s to end formal Segregation created by State Law.

@@dguy0386 Exactly. Many became 1st time home buyers, left the cities and headed for the suburbs to buy affordable 1 family homes. Trumps father came up with the idea to build 2 family home so the renter could pay the mortgage. He became wealthy, obviously.

50's diner is the name of the restaurant. This obviously wasn't filmed in the 50's. Film quality didn't exist for home cameras. There are several restaraunts with the retro theme that use 50's in their name.

I love this, I wish it were longer and she is classy beautiful and look so realistic. It's like going back in that decade even though I didn't exist, the only downfall to the old days was segregation and racism.

Yeah very different time back then. Jim Crow laws were still in effect especially in the deep south like Alabama and Mississippi. She would not been able to drink her milkshake like in the video if she were black. The laws were later amended so blacks could be served, but only takeout (no dine in).....and later, could be served but had to be separated from white diners and could only be served with designated plates and utensils.

Mexicans delta with racism as well and some Asians. if I lived in North America at the time I would have to live amongst the Black folks and that's better, because back then people weren't killing each other if they did then the murder rate was most likely at a low rate.
