Very good idea to test things too, don't just pack and think this is a good idea then find out it jams in to your back or something. My hydration pack has thin straps and rubs but it's only a few kilos so I don't worry but heavier or with stuff over top(or it over top of other things) I'm gonna reconsider and probably strap it outside instead of using the provided shoulder straps
