Thank you very much for the detailed reviews. I’ve decided to stick with the Rush 72. I already have the jaakari S & M. Maybe in the future lol. On a side note, you can fit a GB Small forest axe in the back panel of the Rush 72. Stealth if you’re walking around people. Thanks again, much appreciated. 👍

Hi Carl....... I hope you are keeping well mate. You are very welcome. Apologies that it took me a while to get around to it, but things get getting in the way. I'm thinking of getting the medium myself with my next lottery win lol. I could do with replacing a smaller pack and if it's like the large version then it would be perfect. Thanks for letting me know about been able to put the small forest axe in the back pocket. I usually tie a loop of paracord to a couple of the webbing loops above the side pockets and then once it has been dropped through, I clip it to the pack with one of the tensioning straps. It works, but I prefer how it can keep it concealed. Many thanks for stopping by Carl...... it is very much appreciated, all the best, Mark 😀👍🔥🌲.

Hi Carl! Sorry, but you might be able to answer my question. I have the Rush 72., but I'm not happy about the way it sits around my chest. It's not tight enough, so it's pulling on my shoulders. I'm considering the Jaakari M. Is it be big enough to go on 3 day trips?

Fantastic review my friend! I must say ~ I’ve been extremely happy with my Rush 72, which I originally purchased after one of your earlier videos. The construction is top shelf and the only downside is my tendency to carry too much lol. I was lucky to find the multicam version at a great sale price. I’ve been tormenting myself about a larger Savotta ~ everything I see about them is very positive! Your camp looks great Mark. Perfect little hideaway spot for quality time! I hope all is well and you can spend as much time there as possible! Blue Skies to ya!!!

Hi Brian..... great to hear from you brother. I hope life over there is treating you well. It has all gone a bit crazy over here again. They are telling us it is now important that we all return to work and think about the economy. I would...... but the decent job I had, they took away from me and the business may fold. LOL They couldn't run a bath let alone a county. Hence the reason I'm glad I can get out and still do things that I love to do like you say. I agree Brian.... the Rush 72 is a great bag. I just find it a bit too small during the winter time when the bigger sleeping bags and more food etc gets added to the kit. The Savotta packs are brilliant. Neat idea, well designed, quality build and top quality materials, it is a solid pack. The only thing I miss is it not having the type of front pocket that comes on the rush 72. I noticed on their site that the camo pattern isn't on there anymore. Defiantly a good buy that you made if they have discontinued it. Thanks for taking the time Brian. Stay safe, all the very best, Mark 😀🔥🌲.

Hey Mark! Great looking camp! We've apparently begun the "Monsoon" season here, sideways rain and heavy winds for quite some time. Getting out is not much fun! After watching your last video about the 5.11 Rush 72, I went out and bought one. I like it. I guess I'm like you, I have many packs and although the 72 is definitely a good sturdy pack, it is not my favorite. I "lean" more to my Kelty packs. Recently, I bought an Eberlestock pack. It's small, but a really good day/scouting pack. I will do a review on it in the future - if the weather ever allows me, lol! You look well, my friend, I hope you are. Until next time, take care and stay safe! Brian

Yes that would be great if you could do a video showing the packs. It will either make me jealous or bankrupt me lol. I'm doing OK thanks Brian. Hi Mark. Funnily enough I was out with my new rush 24 today. I had a 72 a while back and I have to say I agree with you 100%. There is nothing wrong with them as far as quality goes and they're the mutts nuts if you have lots of things you want to organise but for a camping bag I too would go with something like the Savotta. My big bag is actually a British army bergen, a bit of a beast weight wise even with nothing in it but like your Savotta which I really like is built to last. Thanks for sharing Mark. Be safe and be lucky man. Wol.

I have both these packs too and love them! I tend to use the 511 more for city breaks and as a carry on for flights as I find it makes my back feel really hot wearing it for any length of time, the savotta I have used for day hikes to wild camping to military style endurance events in Wales and even 3 weeks in Peru including a few days in the jungle! My kit has stayed dray throughout! I’ve found the wisport raccoon side pouches to be a better fit than the savotta ones, although smaller they don’t flap about as much.

Good morning Dave, I hope you are keeping well mate 👍. I agree, with the amount of pockets the 5.11 has it takes a while to remember where everything is lol. Hi Andre, I hope you are having a nice weekend. It is raining again here, so not much happening outside. Hi Mark, I am deciding between these 2 bags right now and while I prefer the Rush style, there have been a few complaints about them falling apart and not comfy for people over 6 foot. So I am now looking into the Savotta so your video is perfect. One thing I cannot comprehend is - isn't the Savotta a massive pain in the arse?! So every time you want to get something at the bottom of the bag you have to unclip, unroll the top, open drawstring, take EVERYTHING out to reach the bottom? Imagine having to empty your bag at airport security! Or needing to quickly grab anything out of that bag in fact. What am I missing? Is there another way to access everything?
@markbailey29813 жыл бұрын
Hi Phil, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I think the main problem with the Rush packs is the lack of adjustments for various sized people. It is pretty much a one size fits all. The Savotta has more adjustment, plus it looks like it has been designed to fit a larger/taller person to start off with. The main way into the pack is through the top, but like most of these style of packs, there is a zip about two thirds the way down. It has a divider inside the pack to make another compartment if needed, or it allows you to get into the pack through the bottom. I hope this helps. Have a great day, al the best, Mark :)

@@markbailey2981 Thanks for the update brother. Glad to hear from you as well. I've not been posting any more content either but surprisingly still do get comments from time to time. I still enjoy survival and camping content, but I just got tired of setting up cameras and dealing with the technical aspect of editing and posting videos, as I'm not very computer savvy. 🤔 Sorry to say I had to put my dog Buddy down on Christmas eve. That was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. He had been my faithful companion for the past 12 years and had even saved my life once. I felt terrible I had to take his life. The bond between Buddy and myself was very strong. He began having seizures and was no longer able to get up on his own so I had to make this very difficult decision. But since having the 5.11, I have gotten to like the zipper compartments. It's a shame there isn't a small one on the savotta. Yeah camp's coming along slowly mate. I will finish the fire area and table off next. I'm trying to think of how to build the table into the wall...... I'm sure some daft idea will pop into my head lol. I have got to go across to Wales before August, as that's when they can fully open. But to be honest, if they can only have a few campers, anglers and people using the café at the same time, it probably won't pay him to have me there. I think he has scrapped the courses for the year, so in the back of my mind I'm thinking it will be job done. That way you expect the worse news anyway. I may build a shelter. I am defiantly going to make a raised bed. But build walls for the shelter and use a tarp for the roof. I haven't tried to find the wood yet for materials, so that will determine what I can build. Thanks for taking the time Rick..... have a great week mate, all the best, Mark 😀🌲🔥.

Which of the packs would you guys say is more comfortable?
@markbailey29813 жыл бұрын
Hi Bima, many thanks for watching. I would say the Savotta is the more comfortable. It has more adjustments that can be made to the straps and back system so it suits various shaped people.

that savotta looks so tempting. it gives great back support without using an entire dolly system. i was going to go with the 72, but now I'm leaning way towards this. it'll probably also go nice with my carinthia defense 4.

I would like to see somebody that has lived out of the packs and do a readin review of the packs that way because just because somebody uses them on vacations and Backpacking trips or whatever that really doesn't say whether or not it's a good pack long term and you know people are beginning for the last Decade or so they're beginning to live out of their backpacks you know because a lot of people choosing to live on Or in the vehicles and the backpacks it'll be nice to see a multi year review on a pack that somebody is lived out of 3 to 5 years that would be the test of a good backpack and a prose in cons

5.11 fail after some use. Very poor quality, on their stiching on the shoulder straps .. Tasmanian Tiger or Osprey are the best backpacks IMO. Savvota is rugged but no way near what Tasmanian Tiger bags can offer in any department.

Hey mate what backpack from tasmania tiger do you use?
@greekveteran27154 жыл бұрын
