The daughters testimony completely wrecked Celeste and she came across as just an awful gold digger. That expert didn’t think their testimony was that important, but I think it really helped corroborate that she was an evil psychopath, and made the Tracy’s testimony all the more believable. The defense attorney seemed like he was just winging it and hadn’t really practiced his closing argument.

She's not evil. She's a profoundly traumatized woman who was deeply damaged by her father's sexual abuse. The recording of her screaming at her daughter about the rape convinced me 100% that she was, first and foremost, a victim herself. Sadly, she never got therapy for her trauma and ended up where she is now. And don't get me wrong, I do believe she's guilty of the murder.

DeGuerin must have been pretty desperate towards the end of the trial. He is known for his theatrics, and has undeniably had success with that in his career. Him laying down with a pillow on his stomach was just pathetic and pointless, and made him look desperate. Insulting the intelligence of the jurors is never a good idea.

The defense made a huge mistake denying a relationship w Tracey, other people including the kids already knew about it. They should’ve used the angle that she had to break it off w Tracy due to Steve’s demands and Tracey had to eliminate Steve to have Celeste to herself, that would have been a plausible story.

It is sad that anyone is so lonely for someone to love that, they fall for a love-bombing manipulator. He at least had a pre-nup, but that can't save you when you are no longer needed or tolerated. It's so horrible that Tracy and Celeste's girls had to go through all of that. A cautionary tale also for people who have gone through trauma in their lives to be truthful with therapists Inn order to receive help to traverse the rocky road ahead. It is always with them and takes a lot of self awareness to get better so they do not become a manipulator, nor be manipulated in life.

I don’t get it. The gunshot was not what killed the man. So Tracy never “killed” him in the first place. She shot him, but he didn’t die. I thought he died from the infection allegedly caused by Celeste’s infected fingers? Or does this all go together since the medical needs were due to the wounds he suffered from the gunshot? Or were these technicalities left out on purpose due to a lot of legal ted tape for time/ programming or ?
@FaithandNova
@FaithandNova 2 жыл бұрын
Tracy caused the damages that led to his death. There are other cases when a person is shot and doesn’t die. The suspect gets attempted murder charges, the person than dies from the wounds later on even heard of years later. They end up upping the charges to murder.

I know what she did was terrible but I do find myself believing everything Tracy said. I also think she felt a lot of remorse after Steve's death when she found out that he was not abusive. I love Katheryn Casey's book on this story. There was a lot of detail about Celeste's greed. Her selfishness and craziness was beyond belief. She was a dreadful mother and she made a REALLY bad wife. Celeste is in prison where she belongs. Rest in Peace Steve, you did not deserve this awful woman.
