Wow, talk about hip strength. I think I just found my new favorite sweep.

Is it a simple hip bump sweep?
@stutteringdisciple19195 жыл бұрын
jen jitsu nah it’s more of a flower sweep without grabbing the leg but it requires you to stay really right and you have to have full control of the posting hand plus timing is key to it.

@@stutteringdisciple1919 Yeah, I was thinking it's like a cross between hip bump and flower sweep. I keep watching these highlights in slow-motion, taking notes :-).
@CrimsonSquaredX24 жыл бұрын
@@jephthai It's covered in john danaher's closed guard instructional. There is a couple different variations shown throughout this video, but a common theme is that something is done to get a hand, elbow, shoulder, or hip/butt to the mat (listed from least to most effective). Then it is quite easy to finish with a hip bump sweep from those positions. The first highlight is a flower sweep variation that is done so powerfully that it got a shoulder and a hip to the mat, making it insanely easy to step through for the hip bump sweep. The second highlight is the same, but it only got a hip to the mat. Most of these are a combo to that effect. Something gets a hand, elbow, shoulder, or hip to the mat and then a hip bump sweep (or a variation of one) is performed.

I like the way he does the muscle sweep because he doesn't compromise his back/spine the way I was taught and the way most people I see do it. I have a bad back so I stay away from the sweep but maybe I can make some changes in the set up and do it this way.

What's amazing to me is that those sweeps are the most basic of sweeps. White belt shit.....and it's BRILLIANT! Block a side and take them in that direction

Tjacqueline Krawec is tjacqueline your real name?
@wilkerfilho6 жыл бұрын
Tjacqueline Krawec hip strenght, timing, felling, squezen the knees together to make pressure, when the guy relax, now u have space, and that is the time to get the hip on the air and cross the knee on the oposite side that u want to sweep of the oponent(is diferent than the one that you use the kimura to sweep)", grips (sometimes), and for sure all that came from hard work/drilling/specific.
