If we introduce Dhrupad in our school.Even just a one class per week. What a Eco system we will be handling over to next generation. The meditative impact will be beyond words on them.

Some schools in the US have introduced simple mindfulness (secular so no one is offended, whatever) but even that is making a difference.

Nah. It would be waste of time. Kids won’t have the patience to sit and listen to dhrupad unless forced to and that won’t have the effect it should have. Also if a kid is actually interested, there are always others 40 kids disturbing. I mean in my college of 10 students we have a lot of disturbance and here it’s school kids

Mr. Gracian Dhrupada is a preliminary to meditation, plus some meditation or states of samadhi are contained within Bhajan, not all meditation is silent. Sabda Brahma is that sound which is beyond the ordinary senses.

What's dhurpad? Is it Raag itself or lai can anyone explain plz
@autobotftwww7 жыл бұрын
Dhrupad refers to both the performance style of the music as well as the compositions. A dhrupad composition "kesara ghola" is being presented in dhrupad style preceded by alaap (and jod and jhala) in Yaman. In dhrupad gayaki there is less room to manipulate the composition. Mostly rhythmic laya based improvisations are done in various tempos (dogun 2x, chagun 4x etc.) as opposed to aakar badhat and bol banav or other similar manipulations as in khayal.

Dhrupad is the oldest and most precise form of Indian Classical music, and is considered nada yoga. The structure is incredibly precise, but after study it becomes obvious where the flexibility is; it's in a subtlety and artistry that is quite high. It takes years to do it, and even years to hear it sometimes. Keep listening.
@ssoupayan5 жыл бұрын
Dhrupad is the oldest form of Indian classical form. The tradition is maintained by the great Dagar family for hundreds of years. A very good treatise is from Shree Gudecha Brothers which explain various components and techniques used in this. There are/used to be several gharanas in India and Pakistan. In Pakistan talwandi gharana and in India dagar baani, khandar baani are some of them. The rhythm instrument is pakhawaj and string instrument is mainly rudra veena.
