that moment (at 3:14) is so beautiful, when rudy stumbles a bit in the poem and the crowd gives him love... what I love so much about the Write About Now community. There's always so much love in the room. I performed my first poem here and I can't wait to go back. The best part of the night are the people you'll meet.

I'm watching his other performances where he aces this, but I still like this the best. Where he's nervous, the way he stutters and speaks too fast - it's all so genuine. His other performances are just too rehearsed, a lot of that emotion from the gut is just lost compared to this one.

"I wanna be your ex-boyfriend's stunt man. I wanna do everything he never had the courage to do....like trust you." I want to live a second life as a guy to tell this to a girl so she can light up. And then, I want to live a third life as myself where I didn't hear this poem until after my boyfriend used this line on me and I feel harder for him. This is beautiful.

I also work at a starbucks, and I love it when people come in and meet people they end up meshing well with. I love it when people hit on the baristas sincerely - it's such a beautiful spark. And this reminds me not only of that, but of the amazing power of poetry ( we all write new things for love and lust) but so few are as stunning as this. P.s favorite bit: "I want to be your exboyfriend's stunt man. I want to do everything he didn't have the courage to do. Like trust you."
