People used to wonder if the Jazz should build around Rudy Gobert or Donovan Mitchell but now the choice is obvious. Ever since Utah traded their Big-2 each star has gone in different directions. This is a look at why Spida has thrived while Rudy looks like a shell of himself.

What do you say about the games were he basically disappeared? Against the raptors he was held to under 10 one game and 12 the other this year and that’s mainly because OG was guarding him…to me it’s a bit weird. Then against some other teams like Brooklyn it was 15 points. He seems to bounce around.

Nobody ever said or suggested to build a team around him. Only dimwitted morons like you, Andrew, believe that was ever a thing being said. What Gobert is and always has been is a defensive anchor with limited, but effective and efficient, offensive contribution. In fact, Rudy Gobert has the highest career offensive rating of all time. He went to a team that was better than the jazz so it's not surprising he's doing well. Garland, Allen, Mobley. All the Jazz had were Gobert and Mitchell. Conley was done. It's pretty wild that the Cavs had Lauri, who is killing it now, and essentially made him useless. Donovan has chemistry with his new team whole Gobert still doesn't. Black Americans seem to get along and have a hard time meshing with Europeans.

Bucks fan here, I've always thought, said and even argued on YT and elsewhere, as compared e.g. to Luka, D. Mitchell gets disproportionally and unfairly much less credit than he deserves as per the talent and general value as a player. The kid is a genuine baller! All he has to do is control his game, decisions and emotions and be more successful in the playoffs with the help of his teammates, because other than that he is not just a star. He can do everything on the basketball court as a superstar. The skillset is out of this world. And we have been unfair to him, he gets far less credit, I understand Luka, Giannis being from Europe they have fans, NBA is primarily a business, even I am from Greece ok, but basketballwise the credit those two get is unfairly much more than D. Mitchell disproportionally if we consider the relevant talent difference (if there is much of it). And I am not saying give less credit to Luka or Giannis cuz they deserve what they get, but give more and pay more attention to what this kid is doing if you love basketball
@someshnarayan7368
@someshnarayan7368 Жыл бұрын
It's not unfair my man. It's because he has always lost in the playoffs when he should have won like with the clippers without kawhi and mavs without Luka. Luka went to the conference finals in his 4th year with no other all stars something which d hasn't yet done.

Honestly, I'm not surprised that the Rudy gobert trade isn't working out all that well. Donovan Mitchell was their offense when they were on the Jazz together. And Rudy was the defense. Unfortunately his defense is also very lackluster when there's a speedy guard near him. That's why they kept getting kicked out of the playoffs. And this just kind of shows that Donovan Mitchell is without a doubt one of the best scores that we have in the league right now and his potential is about to burst.

To me this just went to show how much the jazz built around Rudy more than we thought: no competition for the big man role so he gets the minutes and the freedom to play his defensive style, under appreciated gaurds in Conley, D Mitch(who to a step on D this year with a team more balanced for him) and Royce O’Neale not necessarily looking to stop who they are defending but aiming them at Rudy for shot blocks and hard contests. And lastly overpaying him so they can’t expand the front court and “get Rudy help” so he isn’t the only defender in the front court. Donavan clearly was and this year seems to be show it’s validity that he was dragging that team to success kicking and screaming trying to get them on his play style when they were already leaning on Rudy who isn’t built to have that power.

As a Jazz fan I love to see Don shine. Jazz teammates were not good enough. And some lame Jazz fans would tell him as a ball hog? Pathetic. Don is entering his prime, will be all star again while Rudy is not doing shit at 40M a year with 0 offensive skills.

We need rule changes. It's to easy for the current guys to break records. Hitting a baseball is hitting a baseball. So you know todays players can compare to yesterdays players. Basketball's rules have changed to the point where we don't know how to evaluate today's player from say the 90s

I dont blame the knicks for not trading for dmitch. Not that he's not an amazing player, but idk if the knicks are a dmitch away from true contention, they seem more likely to be 3 good draft picks away. If they traded for him they'd prolly be more like the hawks than the cavs.

It’s funny people would always say “don’t look into the Utah jazz body language on the bench” when Mitchell and Gobert were still there. Especially the whole “passes to Gobert” fiasco. It led to them both being traded but back then people wanted to say “it’s nothing, it’s what teams do” lol

Knicks hate is really real. Gobert playing bad but what does that have to do with the Knicks. They honestly don’t have anything to do with the title of this video. “Spent years planning for a deal like this”? Um this front office just took over. You praise the Cavs for small moves then trash the Knicks for not making a huge move. Ok 👍🏾

He’s usually pretty good with his analysis but he’s a casual with Knicks takes. That trade was divisive even among people that kept saying “the Knicks need a star”. It’s hindsight Furthermore, he just said the Cavs got DM without giving up their core, thus they are a really good team. The Knicks would’ve had to trade cornerstones to get him and still need to do more moves to get another guy. Yea, pretty lazy take and he spent so much time on it too. Unnecessary lol
