They spoke about permission from the band but the original writer is no longer in the band, and that's who they need permission from. Either way, it looks like Rudy did not follow proper protocol diligently and got dragged through the mud over this. Even if they got permission from the band, the record labels still own some of the intellectual property. And straight up not even mentioning the original artist is just a dick move to try and pass it off as an original to people who don't know Eisley.
