Rudy Project Rydon Review Update (plus prescription insert review)

This video was shot long before Cycling On A Shoestring on an old video camera. I thought I would share this with you. This review has some additional information that I have learned over the years about the Rydons. I hope it is helpful if you're looking to invest in some new glasses.

I've been using Shimano glasses with their optical insert for the past few years...this looks like a slightly cleaner solution but also quite a lot more expensive...might have to check them out...

I got Rydon slims prescription inserts I love them so clear the vision and are comfortable

Bought these (prescription version) after watching your review. They are amazing. When they were delivered, the optician included an extra pair of Rudy lenses (non-prescription) at no extra cost. Thanks as always for the video.

Glad you like them. I got the inserts and regularly switch them between my Rydons and old RP pair. Nice you got extra lenses. Did you get photochromatic lenses? I love the way they change.

@@CyclingOnAShoestring Yes, I got the photochromic lenses. Wore them today on a 100KM ride. They are superb. I tried various types of contact lenses but they never worked well. They were either good for distance and useless for up close such as my cycle computer or good up close and not very good for distance. The move to prescription Rudy's did the trick. Thank you again for the video and recommendation.

Hi and thanks for the video. Do you ever get any issues with fogging on rydons? Stay clean enough when you're mountain biking?

No issues with staying clean and no issues with fogging unless it's real cold and you're wearing a balaclava that forces your breath under your glasses. Get the anti-glare coating if you're getting the prescription inserts. Great glasses.

What you see is what I got. I didn't realize there were different types. I seem to remember some options, like anti glare, which I got, but that was about it at the time.

@@CyclingOnAShoestring There are two versions: Rx clip on insert and Semi-rimless rx insert (www.rudyprojectna.com/products/2019-rydon-rx). I guess yours is the Rx clip on insert.
