They were speaking Human Tongue. The language he had to learn when he came to the world, the language Zenith and Paul spoke when he was born. Also, this is the first time he's spoken ACTUAL Japanese with someone. Also Silphy's parents died during the Mana Disaster

What I believe being an anime watcher only is the difference in time between the reincarnation and the summoning is that a soul/mind travels faster than a full person and maybe the teleportation took time to happen too, maybe it need it time to grow and summon her. A nice detail I saw on other comment section is the name of her can be translated from Japanese to: Nana = Seven Hoshi = Star Shizuka = Silent

Isn't that the point rather than a detail? Her name is Shizuka (first) Nanahoshi (last). Since Japanese isn't known there, she gave the translation in 1 of the languages of that world (human), but it's given in Japanese for the viewers.

It's a transfer between universes, between two space-time continuums, so ending up on the same world would be separated by both space and time. The backlash of the Mana Calamity essentially displaced everyone in space only. It's only a fluke that Rudy and Nanahoshi both appeared on the same continent.

As to the three main ladies connected to Rudeus, Syplhy hears him speak Japanese, Eris has seen him write Japanese (at least in the WN), and Roxy knew he was precocious, but I doubt he did anything "out of this world" in her presence. Only Lilia heard him speak Japanese before that point, as a baby, but all it did was feed into her thinking he was possessed.

For a bit of context and lore with no spoilers. Rudeus relationship to Linya and pursena, they like to hang arrownd him becuse he is the boss. They act kinda flirty but it's mostly becouse of his status. Pursena in particular takes a class in advance healing magic with Rudeus, and are quite friendly to echother, she is not as agresive as Linya. Nanahoshy shizuka. Her name means Silent seven stars that one being her alias at the university She chose that alias becouse if some one from japan see a name like silent seven stars "in human god lenguage" it may caught his atencion, and it worked. Rudeus did knew she was likely Japanese but avoided her becouse he was kind of scared to face some one from her previous world. When Orsted found her in the aftermath of the mana disaster he toke her in and teach her the basics of lenguage and pointed her to the right dirección to learn what she needed. He gave her a substancias amount of money and she created a comercial empire by selling clothing and dished inspired by the ones in our world. She has an eye for buissness and is a ruthles salesman. She gain a lot of money and status by exploiting her conection to the dragon god, and creating some comercial rutes to import goods from the south like coocking oil, rice and some fabrics. She even used some clever tricks like avoiding high end clothing taxes by exporting them unasambled and asamble them at the stroes. Once she had enough money from royalties she travel arrownd the world with Orsted to find her 2 friends. She learn the basics about sumoning magic from Orsted and a world authority when it comes to sumoning magic. This one told her to not tell anybody about their asociación, unless she wanted a bunch of power hungry hienas to knuck at her dor and... "persuade" her to "share" her conections with an offer she can't refuse. She chose to make her base at the Ranoa magic university, making a generous donation to the faculty and a few contributions to the educación plan, like the use of blackboards and uniforms and added some of her dishes to the cafetería becouse she cudn't stand to eat regular food every day. most if not all of her "inovations" are for her own benefict. She may claim to not want to change the world to much becouse some cosmic law of balance or some shit, but in reality she has change the world a LOT more than Rudeus and all of it for her personal benefict. She can come off as cold controlling rude and compleatly uninterested in this world and its people. Love the atencion to detail to her body lenguage she was sited on a chair or a lader while her guests sit on the flor, always above them. She compleatly ignored Fits as she wasn't there. Beond rude but she didn't care enough to bother. she was overly casual with a total stranger and invaded Rudeus personal space knowing he is just recovering fom a previus panic atack, none of that mattered to her. That panic atack was more anoying to her than concerning. She allso became distant and cold the moment moment she found out he didn't share her goals. She hates this world, and is quite dismisive of other people and their fealings, that uncaring actitud allmost got her killed by Fits. Despite all her conections she is not exatly a people person. Smart, diligent and resurecefull but not kind.

She never asked to be transported there, she has a liffe a familly friends and dreams in japan that she refuse to let go. She dosn't have mana or was raised by a familly as a baby in this world like Rudeus. She didn't even die at that car crash. She was pushed out of the way by some random fat-guy and next thing she knows she wakes up in the middle of nowhere. The tought of dying without ever seeing her love ones ever again frightens her. Moreover, when it's already been 5 years it's time to reevaluate your life. Even during her intended life in Japan during age range of 15-20 she would be abandoning her current family home and school friends as part of neoliberalism-dictated 'adulthood', so it is unreasonable to be this hung up on that.

​@@Ballard258 Totally agree, I think her cold and uncaring mask/facade is her protection mechanism. I believe she subconsciously refuse to associate with this world not only because she had a wrong theory about World erasing her, but also her deep fear of this unfamiliar world as well as fear that if she get too attached, she might not go back to Japan. Combine all that with her being dropped into Fitoa where there is absolutely nothing around her, since everyone and everything is teleportated away. We don't know how fast Orsted found her, but it could have been hours, days or even longer before than. She is only a high schooler, with no survival skills probably, and the guy who picked her up isn't exactly the image of friendliness, but we can at this point assume that just like Rudy, she does not suffer from Orsted's curse of making everyone superficially scared of him. But even then, she had to pick up a new language, learn to live in Medieval standards of living, cope with all the bloodshed and murder Orsted regularly has. The fact that she is still keeping her impressive wits together and seeking solutions is nothing short of heroic. How many other girls or guys would be a bawling mess! So I think her coldness and aloofness is more of a sign of HER PTSD. So in this episode we see three PTSD: Rudy: panic attack, and subtly, the refusal to associate with his past life, notice how he is dodgy about that topic and kept to himself about he was the fat guy that pushed her away. He is deeply insecure of that. Silphie: Shock and confusion as to who Rudy truly is, confused about Nanahoshi and Rudy's relationship. Confusion and shock when learned of Nanahoshi's link to the teleportation incident. Notice her eyes widen immediately, but thinks on the subject for quite a few seconds before finally broke out screaming, I believe she was going through denial, confusion and finally resorted to raw, pent up emotion. Notice how Rudy was doing inner monologueing, Sylphie actually looked at him. Behind those sun glasses, I think it is confusion and rage and perhaps even disappointment, she might have expected Rudy to do something, but Rudy just sits there. Sylphie has three layers, the surface level is her shy and calm demeanor, the deeper level is her secret anxiety and worries, and at her core is her compassion and empathy. We see all three levels playing out. Nanahoshi: using cold and distant demeanor to armor and protect herself.

Rudy did sort of save them from the truck, but if I recall correct one of the emergency workers said something about not being able to locate one or more of the students who were said to have nearly been hit. So she was likely fully teleported body and all at that same moment. Well, same moment from our world. Obviously there was a time gap in the effects in the MT world given Rudy went through several years of his new life before she showed up.

Well you miss some information, there is a reason that explains the time gaps between rudeus and nanahoshi, also the other guy who got teleported like nanahoshi. There is a massive gap in time between nanahoshi and shinohara akito, also kuroki satoshi wasnt teleported he was alright in japan, rudeus saved him from teleportation / summoning, in ep 1 season 1 the emergy workers said only two went missing, the other one was ok.

You are almost correct! The correct name is Silent Seven Star. Seven Star from her Japanese last name, 七星(Nanahoshi), and Silent from her first name, 静香(Shizuka). 七 = Seven 星 = Star 静 = Silent 香 = fragrance The meaning of the kanji is as above, but the sound of the name Shizuka is silent. Incidentally, the surname 七星(Nanahoshi) is quite rare. At least, I have never met or even seen one.

They only called her Nanahoshi in season one which I recognized was the only Japanese name in the anime so far and when he arrived at school I recognized Sevenstar as being literally Nanahoshi, so I’m been excited for them to meet.

Rudy die in that accident.. it make sense why he reincarnated.. but those 3 students.. in episode 1, the news narrator talk about 3 missing students after the accident.. so that means they're all got transported into this world while Rudy just straight up being reincarnated. I thought at first that those 3 students got injured and was in coma and their consciousness got transport into this new world.

You caught so much that the other reactors didn't. You called it before they showed her full face. And you recognized the time lapse immediately. Great job! On the other hand, I think you missed others. Nanahoshi, as she said herself, has no mana. So she put on the rings that had those powers to protect her, since she knew how problematic that topic can be. And I really wish whoever did the subtitle did better, cuz what she said that triggered Sylphie was not "I might have caused it" but more so should be translated to "I might have been the cause/reason for it." Which would make so much more sense and more accurate for her to say so. It is still confusing enough for Fitz to be in shock and later lash out, but Rudy having more context, wouldn't, in fact, Rudy is more shocked by Fitz's sudden outburst than anything. Also, good catch that Sylphie dropped a load of clues this episode. She questioned Nanahoshi how she can ever be from the same hometown as Rudy. Then she revealed herself to be a victim of the incident. As far as Rudy knows, Fitz is just a guy protecting Princess Ariel, but these clues plus the elf year, should give Rudy enough to figure things out, but his mind is on a whole other plate for now. This episode really did Nanahoshi justice, the fierce intelligence and inquisitiveness combined with the trauma, pain and desires of a normal high school girl. They way she dropped all her facade and showed her real self to Rudy when she found out he is indeed Japanese and assumed him to want to go back, contrasted so well with the earlier and later scenes when she had her mask on. Her mask is a self protection, her facade, her cold and calculative exterior, the shell that protects her from the unknowns of this fantasy world. The show didn't give us a full frontal of Sylphie when Nanahoshi grabbed Rudy's hand. And the show didn't give us her full face, when Nanahoshi put the mask back on. This is brilliant, we can only imagine the disappointment, the sorrow and the pain Nanahoshi felt having to put that thing back on, but she had no choice. Even Sylphie was portrayed so well, her normal self and shyness contrasted so well with her outburst. The only other time we saw her lose it was when Rudy told her he wanted to go to University all the way back to season 1, so we are again reminded of how sentimental and emotional she is beneath her surface of shyness and coolness. Yet with all that fury and rage, Rudy's words only took seconds to sink in, the word victim woke her up, because deeper down still, she is still super kind and loving. I'd say more so than anyone in the series. Then the other two continue the conversation. She started cleaning up the room.........that is so Sylphie.

Nanahoshi cant use magic since she is an earthling and has no Mana in her body so she wears those rings. they are magic items that simulate some spells. She also is a special case since her body is foreign. Rudeus Greyrat's body is technically native to this world so he might be an annomally as in, he can bypass some of the rules of this world while being protected by it at the same time. Another thing is, Nanahoshi didnt die. She is here, alive, with her original body. And since she was teleported and not reincarnated she was literally physically moved here. So the 10 year gap might simply be the time that it took for her to physically travel here, wherever here is. As Rudeus was reincarnated he popped up instantly into another body.

Rudeus isn't supposed to exist, (Theory: His soul was caught in the teleportation and sent to that world where he likely took over for the stillborn first child of Paul and Zenith), yes their first child was supposed to die. Nanahoshi was sent to 10 years after Rudy was born while her friend was sent even further into the future and to them the trip was instantaneous.

So, major spoilers here, about why Rudy and Nanahoshi are there. Honestly, this info will play no role in the coming story, but... Yeah. -- -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - One of the guys that was with Nanahoshi got summoned into this world, generic isekai trope. However, that happens much later in the timeline. Rudy died in the accident, and so his soul was accidentally brought to this world. His soul, however, traveled much faster than Nanahoshis body, so he appeared much sooner in the timeline. Nanahoshi followed after a few years in the timeline. And much later in the timeline, the boy will be summoned. So, both Rudeus and Nanahoshi were not meant to be brought here. They are not the chosen ones. Everything was an accident. The story of Rudeus is merely a literal prequel for the story that is to come in the future. Not he, but one of his children is destined to beat Hitogami alongside with Orsted, the sacred beast (the dog) and the summoned boy.
