Great job! Two points for the viewers. 1: The instrument thru has a volume knob, so you can pass as much or as little through to the mix as you like. BUT, the unit needs chord input to know how to harmonize, UNLESS you dial in the key you're in. Which brings me to 2: Notice how he's often leading the chord change just a little on the keys; this gives the unit an extra split second to register the chord so the harmony will come in correct on the beat. If there is any flaw to this unit, it is that sometimes the tracking can throw a bad harmony in there. But it doesn't happen too much, and it's quick to recover if it does. It's an awesome gizmo.

(1) If you buy this you need to download a program from TC-Helicon and update the firmware otherwise, several of the features in the users guide that comes with it do not work correctly including the auto-pitch correction. (2) I think it works pretty well recording from the output, but if you feed the output into a PA or amplifier it's very hard to get the unit so it does not feed back. The compression in the tone function button makes this worse, also worse when harmonies kick in and new frequencies in the room are introduced. (3) I'm a crappy singer and it does make my voice sound better, but the harmonies do sound "electronic" and phased. For some kinds of music that is fine, but for clean acoustic music not so much.

Excellent performance! I have a question, I have the Digitech vocalist live FX, but I would like to change it and get one of these, have you tried it? I ask you because this one seems to be a bit better when singing over chord changes. The digitech does perfectly when you play in one key, but doesn´t get very well with modal interchange, secondary dominants and plain key center change, plus it doen´t have guitar input, it gets everything by it´s microphone. How does this one behave in that area?
@RudyRisingWt3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate! I'm sorry but I never tried the Digitech so I can't help you with that one. Yeah sometimes in this Harmony G-XT there is a micro millisecond gap between the chord change and the vocal update. I think it works for what it's made, live compact performances, but not for absolute precision. I thought about getting another models from TC helicon, but one big point for me is the size since I use it on the top of my keyboard, controlling with my hands, so this one is the best option so far. Check out my Pink Floyd tribute live videos to see it in action! Thanks mate!

@timoteostation9 жыл бұрын
@RudyRisingWt9 жыл бұрын
OUT MONO do Juno no IN do Harmony e depois OUT para a mesa.
@timoteostation9 жыл бұрын
@RudyRisingWt9 жыл бұрын
@RudyRisingWt9 жыл бұрын

@RudyRisingWt7 жыл бұрын

Does it work just as well while controlling it with a keyboard and a guitar? I know it's meant for a guitar, but are there any problems controlling it with a keyboard?

Rudy im a bassist could this work with a bass or is this design only for guitar/keys?
@RudyRisingWt8 жыл бұрын
Hello +Robert Harrison !!! I don't think it will work with a bass... since the Harmony G-XT needs a Major or Minor 3rd to capture the key you are playing. So basically it needs chords to find out if you are in C or Cm for example. Thanks for watching and subscribe!! New videos are coming! Thanks!

hi there, will it work with bass guitar? tkssss
@RudyRisingWt7 жыл бұрын
Hello my friend! It will work just on manual mode, wich is the way the Boss pedal work. For me manual mode only is not worthy. It needs the third from a chord to find the correct harmony. Don't forget to subscribe!! Thanks!

Will it work with a guitar plugged in? Does it recognize the chords you’re playing on guitar?

Hi! I want to buy one of these but I don't own or play a guitar... and I've heard that the harmonies adapt to the guitar that's plugged in or something. Is it still okay for me to buy this pedal?
@RudyRisingWt7 жыл бұрын
Hello Paula. Since you will not use an instrument, you will be able to use only manual mode to choose the key. It will limit this pedal function but it will work the same way most of the harmony pedals do. Thanks!! Don't forget to subscribe!

Do you need to play anything with it, or can you just sing?
@RudyRisingWt9 жыл бұрын
+Zachary Welch Hello Zachary!! You can use it on manual mode (in Crazy Train i'm in manual mode), choosing a key, or you can control it with a keyboard or guitar (which is more accurate).

Can I create an autotune effect with this? :)
@RudyRisingWt7 жыл бұрын
Hello Marius! No you can't. The auto tune is a bonus feature on this pedal (the switch is the TONE button), with a very subtle setting and you just can turn it ON and OFF, and i must say i use it a lot :)!! Don't forget to subscribe and take a look at the live videos (all using the Harmony G-XT)!

Hello What gives it the harmony if you dont use a guitar or keys? What provides the correct notes? Thanks
@RudyRisingWt5 жыл бұрын
Hi Barry!! Take a look closely, some songs like Sweet Home Alabama, Here i Go Again, etc, i'm controling the harmony via keyboard.
@RudyRisingWt5 жыл бұрын
In fact, you should AWAYS control the hamony via intrument (kbd or gtr) or use the manual mode.

@@RudyRisingWt Hi again Yes I saw that. But I dont play keys and I use tracks for backing some have no bg vocals..so in "manual mode" where do tje harmonies come from?

@@RudyRisingWt Yes I saw that but I dont use keys or guitar.. In manual mode ? What would provide the harmonies in that scenario??
@iKETOURAGE5 жыл бұрын
@@barryprofessionalmusicianc832 You would need to atleast play keyboarf to produce the vocals.in manual mode the keyboard notes that are being played is what is producing the notes.

The Beatles could sue for plagiarism. It sounded that good. The other songs also. Thankfully I have a harmony g also. Sounds of silence turns heads wherever I go. You can also use it normL to fatten the voice. The only problem that it has is the horrible plug-in for the transformer. They seriously need to redesign it. Cheers.

Hi mate! Thanks a lot for your feedback! I have a long relationship with the harmony g but something is strange now. I'm experiencing some strange sounds with high gain punchy vocals... Really don't know what it is...
@unabrazoatodoslosbuenos2 жыл бұрын
@@RudyRisingWt set it back to factory settings using the instruction manual. For the harmony g has software updates available. I've never done it because I a bit of a goofball with all that stuff. I do notice that the volume of the harmony g and what ever you plug into makes a difference. Bringing the volume up from your mixing board or amp might change the dynamic. Try it and see what happens. Then try it with your harmony g up full blast and the mixing board volume to taste. Tell me the results.

@@unabrazoatodoslosbuenos Hi mate! i've just downloaded the Voice Support 2 software, turns out that my unit was already with the 1.2.01 build 25 firmware installed (wich the software recognizes as the latest firmware). But i reinstalled it anyway, and the, I performed a knob calibration (found it on a forum). I quickly tested it (without my keyboard) and it sounded good. Next monday i'll have an rehearsal and i shoud test it on a "real" situation! Muchas gracias hermanito! I've been at barcelona once, amazing city, really wish to get back there!
