Now if we change the perspective to Jules and Rue, basically Jules is in a sort of way telling Rue that she finds obstacles in their more-than-friends thing. She isn't ready for Jules. She doesn't want Rue to keep saying she loves her or show affection towards her because she knows deep down Rue depends on her and she doesn't like it. Perhaps in the future when Rue is better may she find her again and let the flower bloom actual love.

Jules doesn't like the idea that Rue is rushing into things without even thinking it over if her feelings for Jules is true love or just the need of making herself feel better when Jules is around. It is clear to see that Jules has already grown feelings towards Rue but doesn't want to rush things cause both of them is dealing with their different issues and it terrifies Jules that this will be their first serious relationship in both their sides, that's why she acted so weird, cause if they decided to be in a relationship too early it might fucked up their friendship and everything. Jules was quoting from Shakespeare R+J (who they dressed up as) I think rue was crying because first of all she was wet from being pulled in the pool and she couldn’t stand Jules being drunk, the night was pretty dramatic itself... I might be wrong, Rue herself was unsure with Jules after she smelt of alcohol and didn’t give her a kiss when she arrived at her door.
