What a stunningly original and uncompromising piece ! Langgaard takes Nielsen's quirkiness to an entirely new level. A very convincing performance. It does seem totally accurate in some places, but it music of such primeval power this is not so very important.

I listened to pretty much all what's avaiable about Langgaard and I cannot figure out why he was not recognized as one of greatest composers ever even in Denmark during his lifetime and soon after his death. Fortunately since a couple of decades (hence since some 50 years from his death) he's getting some momentum and a good number of performances at least on CD. He's ver powerful and expressed a stunning stylistic evolution since his first job until the last ones

Rather extraordinary…not like anyone else. Great performance as well.

According to the catalog raisonné, BVN 149 is Gitanjali-Hymner (Gitanjali Hymns) for piano solo (after Tagore). BVN 169 - Afgrundsmusik (Abyss music) - A sonata for piano solo

Grips you immediately and doesn't let go - both the performance and the piece.

At the beginning several rests are too short. Seems like the pianist was a bit impatient
