30:00 you both made valid points and I do agree with what you both said. It’s not fair on the players who want to pursue a professional career, and it’s disrespectful for clubs to come out and say we aren’t interested in the women’s team as it’s not making us money. Michele is investing so much into LCL because she shares the same passion and vision. Could we see Ruesha and Lucy moving into advocacy for women’s football…

Ruesha's right about the English fans and media. England got to the final and lost 1-2 to the best team in the tournament. In terms of consistency, Southgate is the best manager England has ever had, but a lot of fans don't like him because he's "woke", which is actually a word coined by blues singer, Willard Thomas, in the 1920s, and used by another blues singer, Lead Belly, in the 1930s to mean AWAKE to racial prejudice and discrimination. I think the England players should just boycott international football altogether, and tell the fans and the media that they've had enough of the abuse, especially the abuse Black players received after missing penalties at the last World Cup. And to all the England "fans" who say: "You can't fly the England flag without being called a racist". That's because YOU are. You're the same people who use the racist expression: "Playing the race card". There is nothing wrong with being patriotic, and flying the England flag; you don't have to be a monarchist either. Remember the uproar from the bigots when the tiny cross on the back of the England shirt wasn't red, and they discovered, to their horror, that it was in the colours of the bisexual pride flag. They must have spent ages trying to find that out. Bigotry and greed are the ugly side of the beautiful game, but only in men's football; women's football celebrates diversity and sport. I have a lot of respect for female players, because they have to fight for everything: investment, facilities, safe spaces for girls to play, fair wages, respect. They put up with objectification, the misogyny of clubs and federations, the greater risk of injury, the lack of research, the abuse on social media for being lesbians, or for being women, or for not looking like supermodels. And that is on top of having to deal with the menstrual cycle and conditions like endometriosis that sometimes go with it, and can take years to be diagnosed. Ruesha could probably play for another ten years. I remember when she had that gashed knee at Villa; she was back within a week. She's like Captain Scarlet - indestructible. Great podcast, as ever.

Hello Ruesha and Lucy. Just need some football now. Ruesha needs Shebahn to choreograph her dance moves, after she took the fitness training class. The WSL clubs that are dragging their feet do have a pretty middle aged male fan base as a stereotype. Perhaps they need to stop worrying about prawn sandwiches and think of the potential profits?
