My dad was journalist and a friend of his sent The Nose to him on a cassette tape years ago. We played it every Thanksgiving at the end of dinner (after lots of wine) and at Christmas Eve again at our annual dinner with the neighbors. It came to be completely identified with the joy and laughter of our holidays. And they were filled with them.

I never cared for the LA Dodgers but always loved Tommy. True story - I was living in Brooklyn directly across the street from Bamonte's restaurant - a restaurant that I always knew he visited when in NY. I'm on the stoop just passing time and I see Tommy come out of the restaurant with his driver and walk to the car directly in front of the stoop of my apartment. I had a Brooklyn Dodgers hat on and as I'm approaching him to shake his hand, he notices it and say's, "nice hat". I tell him I'm a Met fan and he says, "You guys got my two guys Valentine and Piazza - you guys are going to be good." Shook his hand, told him I was always a fan and he wished me well. Always loved the guy. This was 1999.
