This is the brain surgeon of DDR Extreme. Accurate, confident and perfect. In my prime, i could pass every song on Heavy excluding the 10 footers and So Deep. But that was years ago. Way way back in the day the DDR scene in St Louis had a group of dudes (me included) who played it like a religion - the best of us could collectively AAA all but PSMO - but never while on Legend Road - so amazing job dude! I'm just surprised this video and comments are so recent! I think it's been literally 8 years ago when we were AAA'ing these.

DDR timing windows are based on frames, so if a note is really late compared to the middle of its frame, then the timing window is highly asymmetrical. Assuming the note is in the middle of the frame, you can be off by 1/120 of a second (8.3ms) and ITG Fantastics are 21.5ms (based on actual time, for it's StepMania based), so 39% ... on songs with BPMs that don't divide 3600, it's harder to get a quad star than that suggests, for some beats would have to be hit 22 frames apart and others 23 frames (on 160, but others work similarly) ITG timing windows are 21.5ms, 43ms, 102ms, 135ms, 180ms, with the differences being 21.5ms (Fantastic to Excellent), 59ms (Excellent to Great), 33ms (Great to Decent), 45ms (Decent to Way Off) default StepMania windows are 22.5ms, 45ms, 90ms, 135ms, 180ms, multiplied by 1.50, 1.33, 1.16, 1.00, 0.84, 0.66, 0.50, 0.33, 0.20 for judge difficulty 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Justice. From rwong.wordpress.com/2010/07/18/itg-dedicab-and-ddr-arcade-timings/ I got 16.7ms, 33.3ms, 83ms, 120ms, 158.3ms, corresponding to Judge 5.5 (Marvelous/Perfect), 4.5 (Great), 4.7 (Good/Almost), with fractional Judge difficulties having a natural meaning of sorts (multiplier = (10-J)/6, so Justice = 8.8)
