Yes, there are stencil brushes with synthetic bristles. We don't sell them, but they are available in craft sores and online.

It's totally fine to stencil the rug and the paint wouldn't chip off! It doesn't feel hard either, especially on a sisal rug. if you're stenciling a flat woven thin cotton rug, I might suggest adding a Fabric medium to your paint (sold in craft stores) - it makes paint soft and pliable when it dries. But for the sisal it's not an issue and it's very durable! Hope this helps! ~Janna

How long did you wait before moving the stencil inbetween each step?

Hi Elizabeth, you can move the stencil immediately, as long as you are using flat paint!

can u stencil on regular carpet, luke staircase and small hallway?

Hi Adrienne, I think it would really depend on the nap of the carpet. If it is a deep pile, probably not. But if it is a tight nap or commercial carpet, you probably could! Do a test on a scrap if possible before committing. Good Luck!
