RUGBY ATTACKING IN PODS

Here is the Army head coach taking the team through a contact and pod work drill. this is often used as a warm up drill to prepare the players for contact. The pads dictate the contact area. To develop this drill you would start offering tip option or out the back options. For this drill it is purely a hit and secure drill.

I know its a contact drill but would like to see more variation on the ball carrier or even attempt to make a decision? Pass? Footwork then off load? Or pass out the back to a player in the pocket? These attack shapes should be for decision making in your pods I think it challenges players better that.

Thanks Massey. I'll grab some videos of the Army doing some other pod work drills when the season starts again. This drill was aimed at warming the players up and they were dictated at the contact point from where the pads were standing. Thanks for your comments and for watching.

@@GYMVUK Also I would get the Alpha and Bravo tighter so we can look at tip and delta options.
