I have it because of your review, i think its the best rugby game but I really want EA to make a one exactly like fifa because i think thay have the best graphics, gameplay and they could even add a story mode like Fifa 17.

The big question: does it look like a game of rugby. No it doesn't. It looks like a game of rugby challenge video game. It's been 10 years and we've gone backwards from where we were in 2007.

The speed of ball in the rugby challenge games are so slow and sluggish because of the ridiculous slow rucking. Each Ruck is like a scrum with teams putting like 5 players into it. The speed of ball in rugby 20 is very good and the game flows a lot more smoothly. A recurring issue I have found in the rugby games is that the best way to score a try is to pass to the winger. As a result there is a lack of ingenuity and creativity with the play. The online gameplay on rugby games is very frustrating because of the lag. It’s unplayable! 😖

I agree with all of your points, it's a shame rugby 20 looks TERRIBLE because they had good foundations with the gameplay. I hardly ever play online, the lag is so bad. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻

I’m so glad rugby 24 will have the license for England rugby cus when I first got rugby 22 I didn’t know about the missing licenses and was so sad when I found out so hopefully one thing leads to another and England rugby allows rugby 24 to get premiership rugby

Its so annoying that after years of game development in other fields, Rugby is considered such a niche market that its been totally neglected?!?!?! Thanks for the review. I owned all 3 of the Rugby Challenge series if there is not much update from RC3 I may not get it. It's releasing in two weeks on DVD but watching this has made me change my mind.

Yeah apart from the addition of set plays there isn't really much difference at the moment. It is still in 'early access' so it might improve significantly after several updates, then again it may not.

If you have a PC then get rugby 08, there are some mods around as well.

one thing you have to do in this game. Is to play it on the harder difficulty. Drop all offloads down to zero and break tackles down to zero and play with Defense and attacking urgency, to get a decent game of rugby out of it. Otherwise the Ai just cheat with ridiculous offloading. Yes take break tackles down to zero also. Even if you cant do them. Because ive seen the Ai break like 10 tackels before on the hardest difficulty and its over the top. But if you put it on on zero both you and the Ai cant break tackles much at least and it will feel like a better game of rugby.

Can you help me with any advice on the rucks? I’m playing on PlayStation and the controls/logic makes zero sense to me. I spam x (quick bind) and it feels like a lottery and completely random whether I win the rucks or not

The circle metre shows you the momentum. They key is to add or remove players at the right time.

Today I decided to buy a Rugby game but I haven't bought it yet because there are at least three different Rubgy games, it is a challenge to choose a Rugby game, personally I prefer a game that has more content, because more content usually means more playing time and from what I saw Rugby 2022 has fewer teams compared to Rugby League Live 4, for now I am more inclined to buy Rugby League Live 4 because it has more teams... if you guys ask me if the gameplay is important to me, I say of course it is, but as I have never played a game of Rugby I prefer to give priority to the content that the game has, which in this case means more teams...

If you want content the RLL4 would be a good option. RC4 has more content that R22 but you can't buy it anymore.

Hmm... I still want to pick this up despite all of its flaws I got a question tho, can you explain how the ruck system works? It feels so luck based when all I have to do is spam quick bind or heavy bind and I don't know how the strategy works

Yeah it's not the greatest ruck system in the world. The opponent wins the ball back a lot. You just need to try and make sure your player isn't isolated when tackled. If you have support around him generally your fine.

As far as picking it up, it's definitely the best modern day Rugby game as far as graphics and the ability to use the fanhub. Gameplay is abit iffy here and there but it's the best we have on current consoles.

@@BearsGamer honestly I love the ruck minigame on Rugby 20, because it just makes more sense imo but the game is really easy even on the hardest difficulty. The only way I can get a real challenge out of it is if I play as Canada against a high rated team like NZ or South Africa... And no I can't play online because my internet speed can't even reach 1mbps XD But Rugby challenge has much better defenses and provides more of a challenge but I'm still trying to get used to the ruck in RC3 And RC4 is super expensive, especially since no one here sells it so I have to get it shipped and pay for shipping that costs about 20% of the game itself but I wanna buy it just to have that team update and the updates they'll add to the game Thanks for replying tho, I appreciate it!

I agree in regards to rugby 20. It's just a shame about the graphics in that game because they are absolutely terrible. The gameplay I think is probably better than RC4 in terms of enjoyment.

I made the mistake of buying this game a few days ago for Xbox one. I took it off and reinstalled RC 3 if that tells you anything.

If you can get the PC version then yes, it's probably the best modern day rugby game. On pc you can update it with mods etc.

RC3 has lots of mods swapping out textures, logos and kits. RC4 most likely will too. There is also a chance that the previous mods are compatible with this game.

You can update the squads using the fanhub on the game so that's ok. Unfortunately the licenses of the team are not complete but luckily the PC version is available now and the modding has begun to get the kits up to date. Thanks for the comment 🙂

Definitely, it's hard which I like, you can't ping 50m passes, but when you learn it and get it right, it's the so satisfying. Best on the market by a mile.
