@frmrchristian3034 жыл бұрын
He won the freaking HEISMAN!!! That's the reason he was disappointed being 32cd pick. All of those teams that passed on him are now kicking themselves in the proverbial balls! 😣 He KNOWS he is a quarterback (not a receiver or special teams-punt return guy, etc.) and now he's proving that he has pinpoint accuracy to match his stellar speed, quickness, and evasiveness! He spent the off-season of 2018 working on his passing accuracy. He has VASTLY honed that accuracy! If Jackson can remain healthy, (and this is a bold claim but he's unlike anything we've ever seen!) I think he will transform the game and will put up just "stupid" numbers! Like you said "mate", it's like watching a video game! If he remains healthy, he'll break every record a QB can break!

Kiwi Kicker ( sorry I don't know your real name ) most NFL qb's but their index finger on the back point of the ball when they throw because to get a really tight spiral you want to have that finger spinning the ball as long as it can so the farther back your fingers are the tighter the spiral is. Most qb's do something like that but I've never known of one who holds it quite like he does.
@glenncurry90504 жыл бұрын
Most qbs do not hold the ball like that. In fact he was told to not do it to. Normally they put all. Four fingers on the lases. And that's what gives the ball it's spin. The finger is probably something he felt comfortable with when he was learning to throw while growing up. HOF QB Kurt Warner saw and asked him about it before a game against the Chiefs. Then surprised Lamar by telling, and showing him that how he grips the ball, and to keep doing what you're doing. As for the baseball part. There has been a lot QBs that also played baseball throughout the years. It's still a little unusual, because for the most part, players stay focused on one sport. John Elway was originally drafted by the Colts, and threatened to go play with the New York Yankees if they didn't trade him. The Yankees drafted Elway in the second round of 1981 MLB draft. Ken Stabler (Raiders) and Dan Marino (Dolphins) are just two others that were also drafted by MLB teams.

Baseball players have always made pretty good QBs. John Elway was famous for this. His first draft the Colts picked him number 1 and he didn't want to play for them so he played Minor League Baseball for a season before forcing the Colts to trade him to Denver. A couple more recent examples are Chris Weinke who was a backup for the Panthers he won the Heisman as a QB for Florida State when he was like 27 or 28 years old because he started playing Minor League Baseball before he went back to football. Jameis Winston who is having a very up and down year for the Bucs this year also won the Heisman as a QB for Florida State and also played on Florida States baseball team in college. Another guy who didn't work out in NFL was Drew Henson. Henson was actually sharing QB duties with Tom Brady for Michigan back in the day and Brady often came off the bench behind him. Henson played Minor League Baseball for years before giving up on Baseball and going back to Football. The Cowboys signed him but he never panned out.

Jackson is a terrifying player because he's got Barry and Vick mobility, he's got the passing touch like Rogers and Mahomes, and can thread the needle like Brady and Peyton. On top of that, he's continuing to improve as he goes.

Remember what football looked like in the 2000s and 2010s because Lamar Jackson is changing the game. I’m a broncos fan but before that I’m a FOOTBALL fan and if you’re a fan of football you can’t not love what this kid is doing. Astounding.

what makes jackson great is when defense is in man coverage they move away from lamar and then lamar takes off but if the defense is playing zone (where all defenders are looking at the QB) then he throws darts in between the zones (24 pass TD's) so therefore he IS IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP. As a defense you cant stop the run and pass at the same time

This year Lamar has been as close to a perfect player as the league has ever seen. Not only does he have the speed and accuracy but his awareness and decision making is phenomenal. The last several weeks he has been unstoppable.

Just for information sake. He never played baseball, in fact he's only played football and always at quarterback. So the things he's doing are just natural to him. Things you couldn't coach anyway. And he's only played a season And a half. So I think there's a lot more to come. If this season is any indication. Than I would think the world is in for a real treet for the foreseeable future. Barring injury of course. Because I believe he's only going to get better. Crazily that's hard to picture. Which would spell real trouble for the rest of the league. Not to mention the owner pockets. Which better be extremely deep. Thanks for your reaction and your subject matter. Its always refreshing to see someone with a unbiased and honest reaction to something that is truly felt. And I could see that you really respect what you saw this young man demonstrate on the field. And who wouldn't. If your truly a fan of sports. No matter the game. So kudos to you. For your appreciation and representation. Go Ravens. Go Lamar...

Lamar was the backup for Flacco last year until about mid season. He started 6 or 7 games last year and won all but one. Then they played the Chargers in the first round of the playoffs and he didn't have the supporting cast or the experience so they lost to a deeper team with a much more experienced quarterback. He grew up in South Florida and this year the super bowl is in Miami. Looks like it will be a home game for him.

What’s funny is that all these teams including my Cardinals who I actually wanted to draft Allen or Jackson passed up on him and two years in he’s front runner for one of the most dangerous teams in the nfl.

The 7:48 play is a good example of why Skip Bayless says that he's revolutionizing not only the QB position but the game. 20 years ago, this play would be "let's QB sneak for the 1st and get three fresh downs"... but when your QB can hit gaps like a RB this happens.

Joe Flacco was the starter last season before he got hurt and there record was 4-5 when Lamar took over for an injured Flacco he turned the teams season around and finished 10-6 only losing one game as a starter and took the ravens to the playoffs for the first time in 4 years Lamar became the youngest qb to start a playoff game at the age of 21 and the lost to the chargers first round 17-23

Obviously he's an athletic monster, but what has absolutely blown me away about Lamar is his progress from last year. He was breaking ankles last season, but he developed into an amazing passer in one offseason.
