1:13 people often forget the prelude to Tallis vs Ross. In 2001 Gordon Tallis took an innocuous knock that virtually paralysed him for a minute or 2. He later went to the hospital where scans showed from memory a thin spinal column meaning that for the 1st time in his life Gordon Tallis wasn’t just mortal he was vulnerable. He sat out the remainder of 2001 and came back in 2002 where he had mentioned to coach Bennett that he felt no one was scared of him any more and he might have to put on a Donnybrook to put the fear back in the opposition so that they could just let him play his game and let him finish his career peacefully. To which Bennett said well do it early and make it a big man. Gordon had been tackled by Ben Ross several times, and each time Ross had put pressure on tallis’s throat and neck as seen clearly 1:13 Tallis Warned him do not touch my neck again. He did the footage is what followed.

He is a bitch imo lol, pretty much all the fights he had with people involved him throwing the first 20 punches with people that didn’t even want to fight, and if that isn’t bad enough he actually lost one of them once. He threw like 10 punches at a guy before he had the chance to strike back but when he did he inflicted more damage on Tallis in one punch then Tallis did in his whole career of being the “Raging bull”

I’m a Queenslander but it makes me happy seeing Joey stand up. Sure he gets punished but he stood up. Compare that to the like of Maloney and Thurston, who got real tough when sin bins became mandatory for biffs. Although the goat halfback brawlers are tommy R. And Peter sterling. Who I’ve watched get hit by Greg Dowling in an origin (game 1 or 2 in 87) then sterlo throws a bunch of uppercuts into the jaw of GD and they break up and get on with the game after sterlo sledges him a bunch.
