Ran into this man at Currumbin the other day and my son had a photo with him. He took the time to have a conversation with him about footy and asked where he was from, what position he played and gave him words of encouragement. Real gentleman.

Fair play to the Aussies, I like what he said at the end - always admire their work life balance - big difference between a dirty player and a hard one, think he was a hard one for sure

"We didn't play for the money, it was more for the opportunity back then" something the game has been lacking for the last 10-15 years. These days you play hard for half a season then pen meets the paper and you get to have a holiday for the length of your contract. Great game we love.
@Ze_Moose2 жыл бұрын
True. But couldn't we say that about a lot of sports when it comes to money? Ruins competition.

Excellent snapshot of the great man! Great punch by the way - look on the bright side, most of the time when you punch an Aussie, it takes five minutes for the effect of the impact to make it to the brain! …. Oh, …. Hang on! You ARE an Aussie! 😳🇳🇿💪🏼🤓
@djkchur20 күн бұрын
I remember this game. Webcke was being an absolute menace and had been involved in a couple of incidents and at that point he was totally dominating the entire game. A scrum was called and campion was meant to set in the second row but he taped the player up front on the shoulder and told him to swap. The scrum set but campion had both arms in, not one over the hookers shoulders. all you saw was Webcke's head bounce up and when the scrum cleared he was standing there with a face full of blood. A very old school way of sorting a rouge opposition player

Kevin Campion was one of my favourite players BUT he was basically king hitting Webke in this trade off because Webke had his arms held behind him by another Warriors player and was basically defenceless. Don't know if Campion realised that in the heat of the moment but he should own it in retrospect.
