Chasing the sun is fire compared to the netflix six nations documentary series.

In South African television games, there are usually different commentators to accommodate the official language in our contry. As a multilingual spectator, at times, I switch between the language options to listen how different the energy is from English to Afrikaans, isiXhosa and Zulu and I dare say the most entertaining commentators who bring the most energy are the isiXhosa speaking. They bring the energy of what's at stakes and implications of each moment on the pitch. Whether you understand what's said, I'd definitely recommend to take a listen and how they sell the game to everyone watching

The WC showcased the best rugby I have ever seen. And somehow people still say rugby is boring and it needs to be sped up. Makes no sense.
@JTAIT-b7g9 ай бұрын
28 minutes of play in an 80 minute game makes no sense to me & will do nothing to attract a wider audience..clearly something had to be done to reduce the amount of time wasting & it has been, bravo WR.

@@JTAIT-b7g Bravo WR 🤡
@hannesbornman10459 ай бұрын
@@JTAIT-b7g Yet your statement goes against all the evidence present. More people watched the WC than ever before so clearly rugby is attracting a wider audience. But I have a solution for you, one that you don't even need to wait for. Its called rugby league. Go watch that and leave union pure please
@JTAIT-b7g9 ай бұрын
@@hannesbornman1045 There are constant law changes to rugby Hannes, every year, so what to you mean by "pure"? These particular law changes have been introduced in order to reduce the amount of time wasting as we are now reduced to as little as 27 minutes of actual game time in an 80-minute match..why do you feel so threatened by them?
@hannesbornman10459 ай бұрын
@@JTAIT-b7g Because I like the way Rugby is. I like the fact that you have half the team of big bulky guys that just smash stuff and you have athletic guys that does the running. If the ball in play time increases you will have to change the makeup of the teams and the big guys wont have a place anymore. Scrums will get watered down. The essence of what makes the game will disappear. All this talk about making the game safer, faster and more commercial inevitably leads to what we have in league. And I don't like league. It's boring

Like others here I can definitely say that the way the "Chasing the sun" documentaries were done is really good. It gives you a lot of behind the scenes foitage, showing you what the players go though behind the game day itself. Also a lot 9f focus on the players themselves and their personal experiences, etc. The netflix series looked like a show put together by someone who do not really understand the game. It was ok but nothing to write home about.

Rugby is loved by those who genuinely appreciate the sport,. constantly changing rules to try and attract a new audience does no favour for the millions of fans that love it as it is already. Logic needs to prevail. Its not soccer and it will never be, im not built for rugby but I have followed and ❤ the sport for a good 14 years plus now. Keep it as it is🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

The people at the top of rugby (WRU, RFU etc) are too obsessed with the output of naysayers on social media. They HAVE to celebrate what rugby is: a physical, combative, gladiatorial sport. Do that, and defy the pc crowd, and rugby will flourish.

6 out of 10 is a generous score. Felt more like a 3 or 4. Very artificial and staged. You could tell the players and coaches were forced to talk about stuff, rather than providing genuine discussion.

Yes! KZbin currently leads way in terms of peoples interest in rugby and what they want to see - but world rugby and other corporate types shut them down. The right people are not promoting.
