Without a doubt, they are two of the very best in the game, both technically and emotionally. Completely dedicated and as hard as nails.

A long time ago, I was in the check-in queue at Edinburgh airport and FlyBe were trying to sting me for going a kilo overweight on my hold bag. Behind me was Adam Jones in his prime. Ospreys had played Edinburgh a few days prior. I turned around to see one of my favourite rugby players ever, Mr. Jones, in the flesh, and mentioned to the check-in clerk that the man stood behind me was likely three times my weight. Adam gave a quick glance at my 5' 3" frame, 8 stone soaking wet, and uttered, "call it four...", with a broad grin. I did not have to pay for my excess baggage that day. I could have stood inside that man's shadow.

Played with Melon for Cardiff Demons Rugby League when we were 17/18 years old. Best tackler ever. We played Hunslet RLFC and he picked up their prop and ran with him for 40 yard before smashing him into the ground. Had some great weekends way trips up to the north of England with him. Total legend !!!!

The story about Jones getting kneed by an old head prop reminds me of my colts games. Playing for lydney, we were the only English team to play in the Welsh colts league. Season before I went up we won the league, so that first season of colts rugby was hell in the valleys. Travelling to deepest darkest Wales and just knowing you were getting a pasting from cheap shots. As a second row had to get used to sending some up through in a scrum 🤣 always good craic with the Welsh lads after though

A very ADHD response to stories is to identify with a story of your own. It's not meant to make it a out you but to show tje teller they are listening and get it by recounting a similar experience.

Rugby needs investment. Very few profitable clubs and even those in the green are not generating much. I think it’s a good idea. You would have 8 teams with the best players. The other leagues would remain the same with development players who can be drafted in. No relegation and this leagues funds the others. No impact on the international game, players play less matches. The money must flow down to the grass roots.

2 points: 1) Something needs to happen in the sport to make it financially sustainable and it’s only common sense to look at what is happening elsewhere in the sports world with the investment from Saudi Arabia- doesn’t make it right but a good conversation starter 2) Old theme I know but it doesn’t help that Rugby is split into Union and League, the support is often split between the 2
