Ruger 10/22 Takedown Bag Modification

I discuss a few things I would like to change with the nice bag Ruger includes with the 10/22 Takedown. Then I make a modification to the inside pockets.

The only mod I did on my bag is take a sharpie and color in the red Ruger logo all black. That way it’s not so noticeable while packing out on the trail to someone that might recognize the Ruger logo so easily.

Thanks, I'm always open to different views and new ideas. I may not always carry the bipod with me in the bag, but I like having that option if I need a way to steady the rifle.

It's a .22, is a bipod really needed? With the inherent restrictiveness (range, power, knock down, etc) of a .22 I wouldn't think you would need to reach out far enough to need a bipod.

I have watched your videos, love that you are experimenting with ways to use the bag, I just have one question...what is it about the bipod that you have to have it? A red dot and bipod aren't usually used together, and the bag has a slot for resting your rifle in for a steady platform.

Before I saw your video, I cut out the center divider, and sewed a 24 inch zipper down thru the middle. It made it a ton easier to put in, and remove the front half with the scope, and bi-pod attached. But your works fine too. What do you think of my version?

That is a MASSIVE bi-pod for a .22

Watching all the videos of the mod's, no one ever shows what I did. I had 2 backpacking straps Installed, one on each side. NOW IS CAN BE CARRIED RIGHT, JUST LIKE A BACK PACK, not on the shoulder. Make sure that the zipper side has double back up when you sew it in place.

I suppose it isn't a must have, but when at the range it helps me to steady the rifle. If I'm out in the desert just plinking around, then I don't use it. I'll admit I kind of like the look of it as well.

best bag mod ? take a black felt marker and cover up that big red rugar mark , 2nd get 2 back pack straps to carry that bag , forget that big tube of ammo and get more bx 25 magazines loaded , just my 2 cents

is this bag strong and sturdy enough to put in a take down rifle and take down shotgun?

It is strong enough for a takedown rifle or shotgun. I don't think there is room for both.

i'd like to see a bag that allows you to mount a scope and still fit it in the bag

that is cool. if it has a utilitarian use, i am all for it, but i was just wondering if it is worth the space that it takes up. You could put a nice pocket survival kit, more ammo, etc in that space. Just my opinion, not flaming. do what works best for you. good review

I know it's your kit, and go with what you think you will need, but that is a huge bipod that takes up so much room. I could fit a nice survival kit in the space that thing takes up. Or cleaning equipment, or batteries for lights, a couple of lights, maybe a solar charger form my gps/phone, etc. just seems that the space you are using for that bipod could be used for something better in your "get home bag", that is what you called it, so why not more get home or survival gear? Just asking.

i enjoyed the rest of your 10/22 takedown mods and videos but i have to say that i am not a fan of this one. the video is fine but i dont find an issue with the bag layout.
