Great video. I have an early flat bolt M77 re-barreled with a Shilen barrel in 7mm-08. Hard to beat the M77 for sure.

A series of beautiful-looking and functioning Ruger rifles. I've owned my Ruger M77 .243 HB since 1989, it's going strong and I have no interest in parting with it. A really cool video about the the M77 Mark 1. Thanks a heap.

B.E.A.U.T. Ful. M77 always catches my eye but I don't pull the trigger (heh) because they tend to be pricey. Yes! The Scout has this weird allure to it like it's a bolt action variant of a Mini 14. I want one!

Yes that Scout is something special! Thanks for comment!

The Hawkeyes are pretty good, I hear, but the originals always seem better to me. The wood furniture is just beautiful, and the M77 is such a great show of my company’s high end

The mark II and the hawkeyes have a true control feed action whereas the Mark I does not.
@edanpino-xt1ph7 ай бұрын
@@russellkeeling4387 Ok, and? Not much of a problem if you use a round that’s optimized for feeding. .30-06 and .270 are the kings of that, which happen to be my favorite standard length cartridges

@@edanpino-xt1ph I had my M77 .270 re-barreled to the grandfather of both 30-06 and 270. It's now a .275 Rigby.

My M77 came to me as a .270 caliber but I had it re-barreled to a .275 Rigby with a Shilen 24 inch barrel. Accuracy is not a problem for the firearm, if I miss it was me not the rifle.

I just got the same rifle (1980 model) chambered in .270 win. Came with a Burris fullfield II 3-9 scope that looks to be from around the same year. The whole rifle is in great condition to be as old as it is. Cool rifle.

I was just looking at one in the pawn shop and they had an old one "79" in 300win mag. They wanted the same price as a brand new wetherby vangard in 300win mag. I'm a bit torn between the two one is a classic made in the USA but I have no clue as to how she was cared for, looks like she was put in the back of a pick up truck not in the back window but in the bed. The vangard is brand new but made in Japan. The Japanese do make high-quality. But still made in Japan is stamped on the side. I hate myself for saying it but I'm leaning towards the vangard.
@leverBoyluke24 күн бұрын
No judgement bro! Japanese made guns are super high quality. Go with the one you want more.

The first Ruger M77's didn't have the scope mounts cast into the action like the one shown.

No such thing as a mark one. It's just a Model 77, R or RS or a round top receiver that would accept M700 bases.
