Ruger/Magpul RXM: It's a BUY

You buy it because of the price, but will keep it for the modularity. Even with some issues (easily fixed) the Ruger/Magpul RXM will, in my opinion, become the 'go to' pistol for the entry level, striker fire market.

You didn't mention if the grip angle is the same as Glock or has been changed to more mimic the 1911. It doesn't look as extreme as a Glock, just curious. That would be an excellent improvement if true. Looks like a lot of gun for less than $400.00 to me, at least you get steel sights. In the past Johnny Glock has offered a 50% discount at the mention of my name, you might try that if you have to deal with him on this.

Ya there were several things that I was planning on saying or being apart of the video...and just like shooting a match, sometimes those plans go right out the door at the buzzer😂. But the grip angle is awesome. Very 1911. Texture so far has been good. I was really wondering if I'd like the smooth trigger shoe before I fired it...but immediately that didn't matter as shots went down range. This thing has way more pros than cons. And has a bunch of little upgraded components and thought out conveniences that I hadn't anticipated. I'll remember the 50%! I hate paying retail. But knowing my luck that deal will expire the day before I ask!

@@Whitchhunter666 and just for reference glock is 22*. It doesn't sound like much but this thing is much more of a natural pointer than glocks.

1911 = 18 degree, Glock = 22 degree. This is a 20 degree or 20.5 degree. More like a SIG but closer to 1911 than Glock.

13:59 Maritime Spring Cups In a situation where water gets into the striker channel, the notches will prevent the water from compressing the striker spring and preventing a full power strike. Glock only sells these to military and law enforcement through special order.

If it’s hanging on the extractor? Pin your sight screws may be too long and hitting it?. I’ve seen that happen but I don’t know personally. I don’t own an optic.

Slide release issues came from using glock mags it's designed for p mags look at the slide release button when putting a glock mag in

Glock slide releases are a bit longer and puts parts in a different location slightly.

I've built so many Gen 3+4 Glock 17+19 guns, 80% and other, that all of this is very familiar. I'd just like to buy a gun where all this isn't necessary. That's just how guys like us do it though isn't it?!? Tinker tinker tinker...😂

Thanks, great job! The videos of disassembly on Ruger site are made in the DARK! Really poor quality. The pistol look like a winner for Ruger finally. Not like the 'american' with about 8 cross pins and 8 springs! For about 72 parts total! The only Ruger center-fire pistols that work for me are their 1911, and the old P-85 :-)

I am very hesistant about this gun or any modular platform. I had many issues with guns that had fire control units ranging from lack of full trigger reset to safeties no engaging properly. I hope things will be different for the RXM. It hasnt gone well for Sig. How P320s are still being produced is beyond me. The P365 is no better in the internal safety department

I think's a sig issue with their MIM parts having too wide of a tollerance not something inherent to FCUs.

@rushthezeppelin that very well may be the case. I was just speaking from experience with platforms like the Arex Delta, Taurus GX4 (I know, Taurus), and the Berretta APX. Owned one P320 and after feeling the trigger and looking at the internals I said no way.

@@vaughnsadekni665 that's fair, I would go check one out in a store, grab the range rental if they have one. FWIW I have 350 rounds in mine so far with zero trigger or safety issues. It's all the same safeties as a Glock.

That is true. And that does not affect the RXM negatively or positively. There is a lot of data on the gen 3 design so it will come down to how faithfully Ruger and Magpul executed its production.
