Just received this site mount and I think it's great. Looks better in my opinion, I can pick up the dot quicker because I believe it presents better being lower to the bore. It was a little harder to get the old site off than I expected. Just had to get after it a little harder than I'm comfortable with but as soon as it moved it came right out. I saw somewhere, I think maybe in the post below saying to drive the old site out from left to right which is what I did. I went to our local ace hardware and get set screws to fill the holes left on top from removing the rail. Had a clerk trying to help me find the right size . Couldn't find the right size until I mentioned it was for a gun and he went to a screw section for guns and picked a prefect fit right out. Hope that helps someone else.

I received mine today, and I have it installed already! I chose the RMR mount. I love the look of it, this way, instead of with the picatinny on top. The hardest part was removing the dovetail of the original rear sight. Sometimes, it does take a giant hammer! Thank you for this mod! I will boresight it here at home and take it to the range tomorrow.

Many years ago I bought this setup from you. I never could get it to stay tight. The first few times it came loose I snugged it back down and put a small amount of loctite. Eventually the tiny screws stripped and you were gracious enough to send some but I got frustrated and shelved it. Might be time to bring it back out and try again. I hate tiny Allen screws though. I did like how the low pro mount made the height over bore non-existent.

had to sand on the dovetail insert to get it to slide in without a hammer. Holes were off center so if you installed backward the upper receiver would not go back on because the plastic mount very slightly covered part of the hole in the lower half of the mark 4. I got this mount and installed a holosun 407c on my 22/45 mkiv. I had to max the "up" elevation adjustment all the way to the top to hit on target. It did zero, but it wouldn't go any higher.

If it's an adjustable sight, you'll take the visible top screw out and then it will tap out left to right.

Yeah...but if you're shooting suppressed and you see increased debris from blowback...will that not just sling it all over your RDS? Wouldn't it be better to position the RDS directly above the ejection port, so neither part of the lens is exposed to the blowback?

I am beginner on this type of project, but will this system work on a Ruger Mark 2 Bull Barrell and what do I need exactly from the base plate to the red dot. (Not looking to spend a lot of money if possible) Is there a particular type of red dot that only works with what type of base plate. I guess I remove the iron rear sight and then dove tail? So what replaces the existing dove tail piece? I am afraid to take mine apart if this will not work on my gun. Help me please.

Do you have a good torque value for the screws with your sight and a vortex venom? They constantly backed out and I finally got to 15 ft lbs and stripped it out. I just ordered another. I really like your sight mount, but the small aluminum spacers also came out of the base plate. I might go to a machine shop and make the wedge plate out of stainless steel.
