I just purchased this rifle in 6.5 creed. I’ve read many negatives and complaints. My rifle has no flaws or negatives many complained about. I can’t believe the level of quality. Thank you Ruger for listening and delivering. I was die hard Remington 700 fan. Not anymore. Even the wifey wants one. Awesome rifle.

If your having issues adjusting sock like it 1:18 losen the allen screw above the back lever(one closet to the butt of the weapon)

Great film as a left handed shooter I was worried about the adjustment clips until watching this film and seeing they can be switched to the other side, another positive for me to purchase the rifle. Thanks Ruger

How old are the springs in the cheek riser lock??? I just touched the screw on mine at the range yesterday, and it flew the coop. Took me at least an hour to get it back together because the springs on mine were so active. Luckily, I prevailed. Never touching that damn screw ever again!!!

What size is that allen key supposed to be? Mine wasnt in the bolt. Its in 300prc if that matters.

So I had trouble getting the butt pad to slide back and fourth. As an Engineer I realized there must have been a spring between adjustment blocks that is now missing. I also realized I'm an Engineer who must have lost the spring ;). I called Ruger customer service and they are sending me out three of those springs at no charge (after giving my serial number of course) stating there are three of those springs on this weapon. Thank you Ruger!

My rifle was the same way I just lossened the bushing nut on the barrel and set the sleeve at the proper angle it needs to be 30°of set to the left for when you tighten the nut. It took some fanagleing but it s worth it. Or you can go m-loc handgaurd

Does the gen 3s come with the trigger adjustment tool in the bolt shroud? I just got mine today and the end cap turns only slightly but doesn't come off.

Running into some problems with the LOP adjustment. Just got mine yesterday and it sticks really hard. When you adjust yours at the 1:18 mark, yours slides very easily. I almost have to beat mine and that's even with the quick latch removed. Is there another adjustment I need to make?
@mowaoutlaw7 жыл бұрын
Running into the exact same problem. I have to hold the forward latch open a bit and give a good tug. Should be smooth like in the video.

I finally picked up a new RPR. I brought it home now cleaned it up. I got to the bolt and turned it th 30 degrees. I but it down and when I picked it up I heard a click. The damm thing turned past the midpoint. I can't get the thing to move, the piece is now up and I don't want to force it down. Any ideas on how to get the piece back down so I cam rotate the shroud?
@steveduvall59817 жыл бұрын
I think you turned it the wrong way, I almost did the same thing. Twist to the left.

How do I get the barrel on my RPR Rimfire back into alignment with the receiver? I had been shooting 1/2” groups consistently. Then, one day, I found my self getting 2” spreads. The next morning, I settled in, got a good sight picture, shot. Looking through the spotting scope, my round hit the bull on the target 5” to the right of my point of aim. I mounted a different sight, same outcome. Tore it down...nothing notably off...reassembled...same outcome. HOW did the barrel get 20 MOA off from the receiver? At 100 yards, you’d: miss the tree, and hit the house behind it!
@sprocket5809 жыл бұрын
I just bought one in 6.5, still waiting for it to arrive so get busy Ruger. My question is since it comes with a 20 MOA scope rail what ring height works best, low or medium ? My worry is if I get low rings it might effect my negative adjustment to zero it in. What's your thoughts ? .
@kom49249 жыл бұрын
sprocket580 Depends on the dimensions of your scope.
@sprocket5809 жыл бұрын
Well I almost have it pinned down but leaning towards a US Optics scope, 30mm tube and 37mm objective. They say if I use their rings then their low rings. But their rings are in the $200 range so don't want to have to buy new ones. Glad I ordered when I did. I just called to see whats taking so long and the store I bought it in say's Ruger is not taking orders anymore that their a year out .
@seanhiggity8 жыл бұрын
sprocket580 if you are shooting short distances under 600 yards then you can purchase a zero moa rail from ruger.

I bought a precision rifle three weeks ago, this past weekend we went to an indoor range, just to bore sight and try to dial in a new Leupold scope. We used a laserlyte as well, but we had a problem. It was shooting up to the left of center. We ran out of adjustment to get it to zero in. I went back to the place I bought it here in Okla and talked to the owner of the shop. We tried different rings, still ran out of adjustment. We tried another new leupold scope with different rings. Still couldn't bring it in. He is going to call Ruger tomorrow and see what they say. I left the rifle with him and he will send it in and see if they can diagnose what the problem is. The reviews said it was a very good long range competition rifle, which is what I bought it for. Hopefully they can find out if the rail is off or the barrel is off or what the problem is. This isn't a cheap rifle and I expected more.
@edhead356 жыл бұрын
Jurnymn the rifle top rail has 20moa of built in cant, for zeroing at 200 or 300 yards for shooting longer distances. So you need a scope with enough adjustment to come back the 20moa for a 100 yard zero.

I just got one in 6.5 and right off the bat I will say the stock is janky, sure it can be adjusted but it's hard to get the parts to move back and forth and it takes a lot of fiddling. IMO it's designed to be replaced with your choice of way way better aftermarket stocks. The grip is cheap plastic and as well should be replaced right away. The trigger group is also cheap and should be replaced right away and I will say, be very gentle with tapping it to the rear when removing, its easily broken. The gen 2 handguard in Mlock is good, I don't see a reason to replace it, it's lightweight narrow. I guess the only drawback I could say about it, is that their are not an overly amount of screws locking it to the body of the gun, it could be more robust in its attachments to the body of the gun. My build is nearly complete and I should be zeroing my new scope this coming weekend.

I think I might have found the issue with the LOP adjustment. My rifle is missing two of the required 3 springs. It has the one that goes between the cheek adjust, but is missing the two forward ones!! This is how it came; I was looking at the exploded view in the manual and found this!! Those of you having issues, check that; not saying it might be, but check.

Hi I opened the box and there was this beautiful rifle. I removed it from the box and proceeded to open the stock to a full length rifle. Here is where I ran into the mystery. I depressed the button on the side of the stock to collapse the stock and It doesn`t want to move. I mean it wasn`t going to release the mechanism to fold the stock back into the folded position. I finally had to force it in with both my thumbs to release it. Any help would be useful besides the fact that the lower on the rifle was twisted maybe that could have contributed to the problem. I had to send it back to ruger to get it fixed b4 I could even shoot it. The videos show how nice and easy everything moves with this stock, not for this guy . Just putting it out there in case someone runs into this problem.

When my missus asks me to hang out the washing I might need saftey goggles as the peg might fly apart, hit me in the eye and the ambulance go to the wrong address then when it does come (after all the fluid has leaked out of my eye) it rolls on its side causing my wife to have an epileptic seizure after banging her head. The 2nd ambulance will then come and take my missus to the eye hospital where they can't fix epilepsy so the helicopter is called but has a catastrophic turbine failue en route, falls out of the sky, and accidentally (well the ATSB found it was inevitable really) kills 18 innocent people who were incinerated beyond recognition. There was no hope for my eye but kids, ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SAFETY GLASSES. Right, I'm off to buy a designer eye patch - best make sure I have all my PPE.
