I guess. Showed everything everyone else shows. This is the only video I’ve seen so far that had the laser and he didn’t even show that which would have been different than every other one

Proud to be a 2nd amendment supporter, got my Ruger Security-9 Compact and tried it in a range with Federal 115 FMJ...the most fun thing I've ever done in my boring life. :) Nice video, many thanks! Update: After using 500 rounds on my security-9 compact, Federal and Magtechs 115 grain FMJ are the most compatible ammo but when I tried Remington, I had an ejection and loading failures. Best not to use the cheapest ammo for your tool!

I admire you for being honest and very informative without showing bias toward this or any other brand. I wish I would have found you before I watched many other reviewers that try to push their prefered brand of choice. Thank you for a great review

update; Have had this for two years now. Terrific for conceal carry... which is what I use it for. I "whited" the back sight... which is easier for me to attain the target. Never had failure yet.

mine had light primer strikes and the magazine follower jamed while loading , sent it back to ruger, hope they fix it, plus slide release needs to be hit with a hammer to operate...3 issues to fix... 8/25/24

I’ve had my Ruger Security 9 for about two months now. Only had issue with Fiocchi Range Dynamics fmj 115 grn that did not cycle through very well. I have not tried defensive loads yet.

@@southjersey10 Glad it's still part of the family 😁 was that the only ammo that gave it trouble?
@southjersey10 Жыл бұрын
@@tylaw6173 interestingly, the Fiocchi cartridge was the only trouble product for the Security 9. Our other pistols have had no misfires with the Fiocchi cartridge.

Hey great review I was wondering a few things. 1.) Do you know if the TLR7 will accommodate the rail on the compact? 2.) If so do you know any IWB holsters for that combo

I am a lefty too, and there are a few handling techniques that still make it a solid choice, training and practice are key for using a power tool!

I notice u keep sling shotting the slide, does the slide stop act as a slide release too? please respond? thank you
@SteveLong-kf4wx4 ай бұрын
I just bought this pistol recently. I know originally Ruger called it just a slide stop and recommended sling shotting the slide when inserting a fresh mag. I think they have changed it to a release tho, l have no problems releasing the slide on a fresh mag with mine, but it will not release on an empty mag or mag well. Hope that helps

It is not a striker fire gun it is hammer fired. This is not a ore release this was influenced from the 22 hammer fired pistol I got the leather lock in place holster

I like how every one of these vids reviewing compact 9s shows the shooter using a two-handed grip, to keep the recoil from jerking the gun out of your hand or spraining your wrist. If the gun "handled pretty well", as this clueless host says, youd be able to shoot it with one hand without taking 2 seconds to get back on target. Which is probably why you never see them being shot one-handed. And let me be clear: in a situation where you have to use that gun under duress, you WILL be shooting with one hand, your target will be under 9 feet away, and you're not going to have time to really aim. Shooting cans out on the back 40 is different from stepping out to your car and being confronted by some dreadlocked ****** at 11 pm who thinks you need to pay him a toll to step up to your own car and who has a gun tucked into his baggy pants. In the real world, its not cans you'll be shooting at. I don't CARE who makes the gun, unless a gun manufacturer can bend the laws of physics, a compact 9 is only an oddity, something inherently too light to accurately get off repeated, on-target shots. Just get a Security .380 and put 3 of those rounds into the same target you'd be lucky to get one 9mm round into with a compact 9.

@UnderPresser l do one handed double taps with this pistol w no problems at all. Maybe because of regular practice
