My wife went through a phase of breaking iPhones a few years ago. I bought her an armoured Ulefone smartphone. The UI was a bit glitchy (especially the camera app), but it lived up to their claims in terms of battery life and ruggedness. I tried charging and powering it up the other day, and it’s still working!

Btw just curious, why buy a rugged phone instead of buying a rugged case for a phone? Seems to me that latter is the better option, as you can select the phone you prefer, then cover it up with a heavy duty rugged case for protection

@ I put hard cases on everything we own. I bought the armoured phone after watching videos of them dropping them off ladders, etc. It’s a whole other level of protection intended for industrial use.

Taking Photos and notes in bright sunlight hopefully linked to a GPS mark. Gps? Pen? I find that sunlight visibility where I live requires about 1000 nits. Did you say 500? Although all the camera connections do sound really cool.

hehe, I thought this one would be up your street Ruby! No Pen, and yeah 500 nits. I worried about that. No antiglare coating either on the screen. And yep, GPS seems to work, I don't know why they don't seem to mention it on the website.
