I still can't get over how much work goes into these! By the time you are buzzing the final outlines to clean up the edges my mind is just broken from how much effort has been put in. And plus Kirby? Hit me right in my soft spot! Another great video, another incredible rug. Cheers 🍻

what effort? the machine is doing the work.
@brandonrobinson1603 Жыл бұрын
@@jemandjemand2362 each step is more effort than you realize! Hunting down the yarn, having to rewind the yarn by hand, building the wood frame, cutting out the canvas and stretching it on the frame, the tufting gun is probably exhausting to hold for hours and I imagine there are a lot of hiccups along the way that don't make it into the video. I guess my point is, when something looks easy that's usually because the creator is putting a lot of effort into it! You can tell on the clean and professional results that this channel is exhausting themself over the details and not to mention filming angles, hours of video editing etc!
@jemandjemand2362 Жыл бұрын
@@brandonrobinson1603 the frame is just made once. and the canvas is streched by the frame not by anything else. so there is no real work on that. stop being a loser

@@jemandjemand2362 I'm not sure why you're wasting your time watching rug making videos then, all creative endeavors are exhausting both physically and mentally. I know the internet is an easy place to get irritated but instead of getting worked up you should give one of these projects a try- you would enjoy it and would have a new found sense of appreciation for these kinds of things!

Another question came to mind after a re-watch! How big is the frame you’re working with, and how big can you comfortably make the rugs with it? They seem pretty decently sized by the time you’re done and show them on the floor
@rugtrade Жыл бұрын
my frame is probably around 3ft x 4ft... you can make rugs as big as you want in it really you just need to make sure that you leave a small gap around the edge of the rug so you can fold the sides over :) I watch videos of people making rugs on frames 5 times the size of mine it just depends on the space you have and your supplier of monks cloth :)

Nice work! Can you tell me how to make the wooden stand for the monk carpet?
@rugtrade Жыл бұрын
The frame is made up of 4 wooden struts that are screwed together, and then carpet gripper rods are attached to the front (with the spikes facing outwards). I would advice finding a source for monks cloth first and then making the frame to fit those dimensions, leaving a bit of slack around the edges as I do in the videos :)

Something about Kirby just seems like the perfect model for a tufted rug. Awesome job! Just outta curiosity, is that just regular ol hot glue that use use to secure the edges of the backing fabric? Or is it something more special? Thanks!
@rugtrade Жыл бұрын
Hey ben! thanks for the kind words :) yes it's just normal hot glue, however I've heard some people do the cutting out process when the carpet glue is still tacky so they just fold the edges over and it already sticks to itself! Haven't tried this myself but will do in the future for sure :)
